Skoda Superb
was used daily by myself it ran out of fuel and now wont start hence cheap price
I wonder if he thought to put some more diesel in first?...

On a more serious note, whats this like? I quite like it but have a strong feeling its going to go over budget.

Do diesels (or petrols) often/occasionally/never suffer due to running out of fuel?

Diesels can do. Petrols are fine.

Looks nice apart from the grille, but that's easily fixed. A bit of preventative maintenance and a those things run like swiss watches.

This is nice too

Old diesels did, circa 1980's and earlier, modern diesels don't suffer from compression lock if you run them dry, so don't need the injectors bleeding to re-start them, AFAIK.

Very early, very basic 230E - it even has wind up windows. Its currently at £197 with less than an hour to go, I hope it creeps up to prevent me having a punt hehe I reckon some period 15 hole alloys, a good spruce up and service could have a tidy retro runaround there.
Sold for £310...not bad!

These can be had cheap these days
I just bought this off scumtree for £750 with a few months tax and test and with only 64000 on the clock

It has a few marks on the body but is quite a tidy little car but the abs light came on yesterday so it looks like the Vagcom lead is coming out..

Cheap car, see them go for more with double the miles. Shouldn't be hard to fix either

I managed to sort out the abs light issue within 2 minutes of playing around with A cheap VAGCOM lead and the sill is now sprayed and looks great and it's only cost me about £15 to repair smile

Is this the model where you have to take the exhaust manifold off to change the spark plugs?

A few shades of silver there but sounds very well looked after. Too far for me to be arsed.

Guy's. Forgive me for plugging my own ad.. but, do you think i've got the price right on this? From looking at similar E46's it seems about right. I've had it on for a week but had no interest, that's why i'm asking really.

It's on ebay as well as a classified ad (as of yesterday)

Hi, I'll be blunt!

The wheels put me off instantly as they shout boy racer. I'm guessing you could sell them for a fair few hundred one ebay and fit standard cheapies. I would mention the conti's but not the part-worn stuff, its pointless.

You haven't owned it very long, I wouldn't mention it until asked (I flip cars all the time because I get bored as well - usually after wasting loads getting them perfect)

Price is floating in no-mans land, for a grand you should sell easily. Its just like writing a CV- don't lie because you'll just get caught out but talk up its good condition, how well it runs etc!

Thanks for the feedback! Don't think the wheels are 'that' boy racer-y but take your point that some people may be put off.

Will def make amends to the text, some good points. Don't sell car's that often but this was just a stop gap between selling my last car and getting something nicer again, hence the short ownership period smile

It sounds picky, but I'd get some leather cleaner on the drivers seat as well, I took one look at the picture and my first though was it looks dirty!
