Seen on the M56 today, last generation BMW 550d. UK plates.
Largest engine G30 is 530d...
In Europe you can get a M550d.
True but UK plates so assumed RHD
Last generation, so F10, not G30. And UK plates doesn't mean RHD wink

Pulled up behind a very tasty looking current 911 in black at a level crossing yesterday. Had to squint to read the tiny badge on the engine cover, a GT3 Touring, apparently.

Lovely looking thing, very purposeful.

I guess I'm out of touch, was alongside a Skoda Kodiaq yesterday, never heard of it!

There’s a long wheelbase C and E Class as well as a long wheelbase A4 and I think A6.

As stated it’s for the Chinese market

That explains the rather dubious proportions.

It uses its engine and transmission but the Fighter is not based on the Viper at all.

So what's the Fighter's excuse for being ugly then? Because Bristol, I suppose...

It does look similar proportions even if they had more trouble matching paint on various body panels

The Alfa TZ influence in the Fighter is fairly clear, so it’s hardly surprising there are certain similarities.

They are vaguely the same shape (ie cabin back, long bonnet) but I wouldn't go any further than that.
I think the Fighter was a pretty nice design (for a Bristol at least) but I seem to remember ridiculous pricing.

Haunches, rear glass shape, Kamm tail - all similar to the original Giulia Tubolare Zagato.

To be fair, when you're packaging an 8-litre V10 in a front-engined, rear-drive car, then you're going to end up with a long bonnet and a relatively rearward-placed cabin.
