My dc2 gets a fair bit of attention out and about, being white with bright red seats helps I'd imagine. Was surprised to see how many people had a look round it at the PH Sunday Service at Brands last week smile

Talking about negative attention, the worst car I had for that was my Integra Type-R DC2. I dunno why, but this seemed to bring the worst out in people...

Threatened by a group of about 10 chavs late at night who said if I parked it there again and it would be gone, and who then looked like they were going to beat me up and take the keys. Did off pretty damn quick I will say that.

In the overtaking lane once, going at a brisk pace, next slip road mine, so pulled in behind a chap in an old Peugeot, who was also coming off at that slip road. For no reason I can fathom, he repeatedly brake tested me and then stopped in the middle of the road, got out and started shouting, and gesturing as though he had a gun and was willing to use it confused then got back in the car and drove off.

In the same place as the chavs incident (my friends house on a main road), came out to find pizza, kebabs and other food stuff on it on various occasions (this was before the scary incident above).

And finally, keyed 3 times down the entire length of the car when parked outside my flat (and no, to my knowledge, I had not pissed anyone off).

Oh, and I forgot, it was a total police magnet.

It really took the shine off ownership for me and was probably a contributory factor for me selling up when I did. My Z4C is positively invisible in comparison!
I'd agree with that.

My Championship White DC2 & DC5 were both vandalised, (several years apart mind you), and keyed despite being parked next to a police station. Both times sent me down into a spiral of depression but I was determined not to let the bds grind me down, but ultimately the stress meant had to get rid of them.

Then drove a Motability Jazz, which was completely anon, and I was still depressed as it was rubbish. yuck

Now drive an FK2 Civic Type R, which already has a dent in the front wing, despite only ever parking in wide disabled bays. Sometimes I think, why bother working hard to have nice stuff?

ETA: Filled the FK2 up this afternoon and the pretty cashier girl, said, 'That's a nice car.' I was really embarrassed by the compliment, as I'm not used to nice things happening to me, so I said a rather flustered 'Umm....Thanks'. Then apologised for it being dirty.

Loads of attention in the Tuscan, mainly a lot of staring as you drive past and then putting fingers in their ears due to the decat, straight through exhaust smokin

I was surprised at just how much attention my Atlantis Blue F80 M3 gets. Most of it extremely positive, the only negative was a tt in a track prep mx5 gave me the middle finger whilst we were at the lights.

My old e90 M3 and F10 M5 used to get very little attention, it was only petrol heads who acknowledged those 2 cars but the new M3, I get attention from all sorts.

I don't buy cars to get attention at all as I am actually quite modest and don't like 'showing off' but actually it is quite nice getting thumbs up whilst just driving along.

I have ran some of the more non descript cars of any car nut, but the only ones that consistently received good (and in the case of the newer ones) and bad comments were the Minis.
This one was fawned over by 90% of the people that saw it, but the 10% that didn't like it HATED it:

MK2 Escort Mexico, lots of people smiling, people flashing their lights, stopping to let me out of junctions or letting me go ahead at mini roundabouts (despite it being their right of way)
Had one chap stop his tractor to hang out the window shouting "that's a fking lovely car ! " smile

Also, being as the box is a little notchy I blip the throttle when going down the gears. Running twin webers and full Janspeed exhaust sure gets folks heads turning driving

Lots of attention when in the Elise, Caterham (especially when wearing a helmet) and GT4. Far less in the BMW but car people do appreciate it.

Ran a DC2 for many years and had no issues whatsoever.

Banana yellow mgf trophy 160 with full race exhaust, technically a rarer sight these days than many ferrari. Have had several approving comments from guys at work, as well as getting nods of approval when parked places.

Interesting and yes, very rare! There used to be a lass living in Heaton, Newcastle with one of these on L plates a couple of years ago. Had quite a nice sounding exhaust on it too.

I've had my TVR 400SE for about 23 yrs now, and always get favourable comments, ranging from 'Phworr' to 'check out that Bad Boy!' My 90yr old female neighbour has named my car 'Old Stinky' Ace...

I was fortunate to have owned both a TVR (400 SE), which I still own, and a post box red 911. TVR comments all ace, Porsche just seemed to piss the neighbours off and generated a tt type image. Porsche now gone.

Admiring glances from a fellow petrolhead in his E46 M3 whilst driving toward Wales on the M50, his passenger was taking photos whilst we swapped positions.

We got toward the Monmouth tunnel and after a couple more position swaps, some hand gestures and a windows down shouting at each other moment, we agreed on second gear and howled through the tunnel together to much grinning and thumbs up.

Might be fun to wrap any old heap in that stuff and see the reactions.

I have 2 great cars that I own that have vastly different reactions to them :-
1) Aston Martin DB9 - everybody lets you out at junctions but the car goes relatively unnoticed, you get lots of men in their 40's and 50's stare and admire the car, women seem to love it. Kids don't care.

2) McLaren 12C spider - everybody stares at the car, people point and shout "wow" people get their phones out to take pictures, everybody loves it, people come up and want to know about the car. They think you are a celebrity, women can't help themselves. Boy racers want to race you. Kids love it. Generally it gets way too much attention!
used to get loads of attention in my DBS but now no one seems as bothered!
was surprised at how many comments my S class would get (I was young at the time and would get pulled over constantly for looking 'suspiciously young for this kind of car', I just wanted something comfy at the time.)

My E38 750 in all it's dark grey glory looked expensive so it attracted some un-wanted attention and very strange behavior from a few fellow motorists.. Been given the finger a few times and I drive like a fast grandma, not being agressive and certainly not holding people up in any way. Some folk are just strange I reckon.
E38 750 is a wonderful car, but quite polite looking for a performance limo. I am surprised it attracted negative attention as they look elegant and impressive without being too flashy.
Particularly in a nice dark blue. Black suits S-class Mercedes, not these.

I've had a couple of comments of the "V12? Really?" kind, but it only really gets noticed on the Motorway, where everyone seems happy to get out of its way smile

Mainly good responses when i am driving this....apart from Range Rover Sport drivers who tend to dive into the ditch when they realise you aren't moving over smile
