Fancy a Jag XJ8 4.2 V8? Well within thread budget, I can direct you to the ad if it's of any interest.

I fancy a £1k random barge, having missed out on a Saab 9000. Suggestions welcome!

I don’t need one, but have not purchased anything for a while... otherwise it might be a hospital beige 205.

If it's the prosthetic coloured 205 you've posted elsewhere, all I can do is encourage you to buy it. I want to know what gut-wrenching remorse and the loss of all dignity and self-respect looks like.

Alas, that one is sold. The plan is to buy a cheap rusty 205 in another colour, and have it lovingly restored in that prosthetic beige myself in order to deprive me of both any self respect, and all funds in my bank account.

This might be interesting as a comparison to the 190.

Looks like it’s 60k not 50k. A few years not used in the history.

I’d like to drive that briefly. But it would have to be an early metro to own!

Good man. That's the thread way to do it.

As a family we had a few metros in the 80's. They were terrible cars. From a crash perspective they are worse than a Raleigh grifter. My dad took my mum's out one day to visit a parishioner, while he was eating cucumber sandwiches or whatever, a Volvo gave the metro parked at the kerb a glancing blow which sent it into a lamppost which it wrapped itself around. The ovlov wasn't visibly damaged.

I have very fond memories of our 205 though, the chassis was amazing compared with the metro and I loved steering it on the throttle around the streets of Leeds. Probably little better in a crash, but we didn't crash that one.

That is very thread. I've always regretted not saving a friend of mine's old metro before it went for scrap. Bright red with a caramel interior, tartan blanket on the back seat from his granddad's ownership.

In completely different news, I have a friend who has been asked to sell a smart looking 54 plate (pre-ugly glasses) 1 doctor owner navy blue manual Saab 9-5 aero estate with 94,000 mile, full history and no obvious rust.
There's a chance we could perhaps have an interesting PM conversation, depending on where in the country you are/it is.

It's not £1k or a barge, but it'd be a lovely car to enjoy.

This looks alright. Slightly sporting manual barge. Year’s MOT too.
