I've seen 1 MD over the past couple of weeks on a white AMG Merc. It's off the road and currently sat on someones drive. Funny thing is askmid shows it being assigned to a Vectra of all things.

Very odd (unless someone can enlighten me)

Especially as C is 3rd letter of alphabet.

A local plate to me when I was a kid was LL 77. Saw it again about 10 years back but not since.

USA I know private plates are not the same thing but always found this play on words quite amusing.

I know the person that owns 1 MD, it's been on his Vectra for years. He inherited the plate in the early 80's and when it first came to him it was on a Vauxhall Royale. I once made him a offer for 1 MD along with many other people that have made him offers, he's had people follow him home to discuss his plate, leave notes on his windscreen and post letters through his letterbox to make enquiries. I'd be surprised if he has sold it but anything is possible.

A nice pair spotted outside a house in Nottingham today:

SEG 50 - Skoda Octavia

SEG 100 - Skoda Roomster

And another nice pair owned by a Nottingham company (Tuxford vehicle exports) and both on MAN trucks:
