It seems from reading through peoples experiences at the 'Ring, it's a real gamble with your life.
The kind of person who would drive it at speed is the kind of person who would attend an Ann Summers Party, with Amanda Knox at Michael Barrymore's house thinking "What could possibly go wrong?".
Knox and the 'Ring have one other thing in common, when you first see them you think you'd like to have a quick go, but when you analyze the risks, it is just better to watch videos of others doing it.

I'd still do it, and I don't mean the ring The kind of person who would drive it at speed is the kind of person who would attend an Ann Summers Party, with Amanda Knox at Michael Barrymore's house thinking "What could possibly go wrong?".

Here's an inboard lap in a Viper GTS http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2R386dmu0IE
At 5.00 min into the lap you can see the clearing up of another accident! could even be at the same place?
Shame they cant have an electronic signaling system on the track like a green light around various sections, yellow for caution etc Or maybe they do? Ive never been there
If you go back from the accident the car clearly passes a flashing yellow light on a gantry - looked again, alright, its on a pole but you can't miss it at 4:37.At 5.00 min into the lap you can see the clearing up of another accident! could even be at the same place?

There is too much doom and gloom about how busy the place is now.
This vid was taken 2 or 3 weeks earlier, around Sunday lunch time and look how quiet it was!
If you pick your days and times, you can still have fun out there.
Also, look at 2.20 and how much notice is given to "incidents" when the marshalls get it right!

Slowing down for two accidents, he's still as quick as Steffan Bellof on his record lap!

What a suprise the brit who caused it was in a BMW.
Did he?Edited by KM666 on Monday 3rd October 17:43

Three cars were already slowing for this, when a fourth driver, apparently a Brit failed to spot the slowing cars and was unable to avoid a collision. He then hit the Armco, before coming back onto the track and hitting two more cars.
Which having seen plenty of people driving 3 series beyond their skill set comes as no suprise. Having a UK numberplate I'm guessing thats the offending car.
Gran Turismo 5, Kaz'll be pleased you mistook it for reality though.
No i dont have any cars on the road, but neither does that BMW driver. I owned the transit, though it didnt spend much time driving.
Oooooh seems i've touched a nerve here lets just ignore what the plonker was driving (and that theres a fair few 3 series out there in plonkers hands in dire need of mechanical attention, rust seems to be common, saw a 330d at weekend that had its brake lines replaced as the previous set had rusted through, was told, 'oh all 3 series rust'-re bodywork, if brake lines rusting is a common fault id be very suprised) and hope hes driving a Saxo next time.

I was unfortunate enough to witness the Ring Taxi crash at very close hand (about 8feet). As i came over the crest, the Corvette and M3 had stopped just before the crashed white 911. I just managed to brake and move left to avoid them and at that moment the Ring Taxi ploughed into the back of them both and cut across my nose!
Hopefully you won't show as much immature spite and biggotry when commenting in future and you have learned a little bit. Your comments were wholly dispicable and out of order. So a 3 series being driven in a stupid way was what caused both crashes, just not that 3 series.

Worth remembering it was a public holiday in Germany, so there was a lot of people around to drive and watch. Plus there was a bit bike track day on at the F1 track.
The volume of traffic is a big factor in the danger for all the reasons stated throughout this thread.
Top tip, go on a day when everyone isn't off work.
