Remind us of the 997's virtues, GP, please.
Big enough to have sex in. Goes like hell. Makes a good noise. Looks good at the golf club etc.Given it returned the same number of miles to each gallon of juice, could someone remind me why I bother with a dirty dag-dag?

Because the last time I spoke with Mrs Flange she said the 997 was hers.Given it returned the same number of miles to each gallon of juice, could someone remind me why I bother with a dirty dag-dag?

Out for a stroll yesterday, Mrs G asked me what the big deal is with 911s. I went on about iconic car, practicality, speed, engineering, unusual layout, unique driving dynamics, etc etc. It didn't go well.
I should just have stuck to GP's summary.
Indeed. But I'd add:I should just have stuck to GP's summary.
"Big enough for two sprogs, dear"; and
Definitely caveat with:
"compact enough to just have sex with you, dear".

From personal experience, she'll argue that sprogs will fit in a microwave oven too, but it doesn't mean you should. You'll also be reminded that she won't be putting out for a while anyway if the salesman passes you the pen.
I got my own back in the end: now I just show her various 964 ads and remind her how many handbags she could have bought if I hadn't heeded her advice.

Yup. In fact, last time I saw Mrs Flange, she was taking you off for a good talking to...
Mrs Flange and I had a chat over the weekend that resulted in approval for up to three more cars in the fleet, subject to me finding somewhere to keep them.I don't think she realises that we've got room for two more at home and I've got access to a big barn up the road.
So in no way did I spend the train ride back from Manchester chasing up Renault 4s...

Any chance there's a transcript of that for me to plagiarise for my own use? It must have been epically brilliant to get that result and I need all the help I can get.Output Flange said:

Is there something in the water? The details are different, but the spirit of the conversation is very similar to the one I had with Mrs Grubes over the weekend. I assumed it was some sort of weird reverse psychology thing. I'm feeling quite unsettled by it... You won't be surprised to hear that a Vitesse is on my list and here is what I posted just the other day in t'other thread.....

Do like these, would be great to tweak & uprate as a bit of useable project. Maybe period bucket seats, half cage, bit more power, better suspension and brakes that kinda thing.....
