And it's not 'badly modified' so shouldn't really be in the thread, BUT, what bored drug-addled thoughts were they having when they thought 'hmmm, an Allegro Beetle hybrid, what an awesome thing, I'll spend countless hours building one'. And some stupid fecker has bid well over four large on it! Words, once again, are failing me.......
Edit; Many edits 'cos I can't spell for st 'cos the Beellegro has fried my brain.

I'm trying to get my head around how the Beetleggro is cooled.
Looks to me like it'll get mega hot under the 'boot' as none of the tinware now has any purpose, all the heat can simply rise back up towards the air filters then back into and around the engine. There also doesnt appear to be any cooling running into the top back of the engine bay as there would on a Beetle.

Badly modified or not I'm guessing this "TR7" is a replica of the Janspeed ADA TR8 that was entered at Le Mans in 1980.
Prepared in a small garage in Shepherds Bush it failed to qualify but was timed at 201mph on the Mulsanne...so a useful tool.
It's the kind of replica you'd get if someone described the original car to you, but you'd never actually seen it. The front end in particular is nothing like the ADA TR8.Prepared in a small garage in Shepherds Bush it failed to qualify but was timed at 201mph on the Mulsanne...so a useful tool.

So torn between putting this in the decently modified cars thread and here...
The best part is that it's got a bone stock engine, 1.4 I believe. Wikkid.
This seems to be the majority of cars at a lot of events these days, usually a cooking spec hatchback such as a Corsa, Polo, Ibiza etc with a pick from the following list:The best part is that it's got a bone stock engine, 1.4 I believe. Wikkid.
Airbag suspension
Cheap wrap
Sticker bombed engine bay plastics
Deep dish wheels & stretched tyres
Tinted windows & lights
Smoothed/de-badged front grill
Heinz tin spec eBay exhaust
Relocated number plate (offset, wedged in the windscreen etc)
Wide arches
Headlight brows
No engine mods of note
I know someone will probably be along shortly to chide me and tell me how we are all petrol heads and we should respect each others tastes, I am being a miserable bore, woe is the state of PH etc etc, but I find it impossible to take anyone seriously who takes their mums old city car and chucks a couple of grand at it in order to completely knacker the handling and make it look ridiculous.
Imagine if that polo had feelings, being driven out of the showroom with high hopes of driving a nice lady around to the shops and tea rooms to meet the girls and then being driven to s body shop and having the Frankenstein treatment

Yawn! and you called yourself out where does it say its his mum's??
widening the track of a car doesn't normally impact its handling or have all motor-sports got it wrong?
i don't like the arches (too much for me) but i like the black polo and if those arches were closer to the horizontal then if would look better
Singer make a nice tidy profit taking certain VAG cars, lowering, widening, stretching tyres, adding LEDs, tinting things and spending LOADS on interiors.
Perception just looks like snobiness TBH
i'm sure people would prefer he just plays GTA all day, spends his money on drugs, steals cars and gets teenage girls up the duff?? ha
JJ
But people like Singer don't stretch tyres over silly little wheels and put the numberplate in the top of the windscreen because scene.
I'm happy for people to express themselves and their taste but (a) there is nothing original about that Polo, (b) this version of widened track has absolutely nothing to do with motorsport and (c) it looks stupid.

People whose "bedroom poster car education" came from PC games and Disney cartoons and not motor-sport/father/grandfatherI'm happy for people to express themselves and their taste but (a) there is nothing original about that Polo, (b) this version of widened track has absolutely nothing to do with motorsport and (c) it looks stupid.

However widening the track by using wheel spacers and deep dished wheels to do so will upset the handling greatly as the point of contact for the tyre is far more than intended to the main suspension uprights which take the load and weight of the car, fulcrums and levers etcwhere does it say its his mum's??
