Sorry guys, I've had to bail.

Mum's tests came back inconclusive. She went into hospital for some deeper tests and assessment but they've found an infection, although they're not sure where yet. They are keeping her in for the time being.

It's one thing to be gallivanting about while she's on the sofa watching tennis but now she's going into hospital I have to get back.
Sister said she's comfortable and they are happy with her but I can't stay out here while she's dealing with that.

Will be at least another stop so I'll post anything interesting but might not be doing much.

Will update when I've crossed to the UK.

Thank you for all the wonderful posts and the piss taking!

X

So sorry I missed the start of this thread br d but we just got back from our 19 day road trip yesterday taking in Obernai, Alsace, Andermatt, Switzerland Annecy & Epernay, France. As you say you have to do these things before it’s taken away from us!
Just caught up and as entertaining & funny as ever - we tried to do a br d in Epernay when we tailgated some staff into the Moët & Chandon orangery & gardens for a private function but we ended up being shown the door. Just reminded me of you ??. Oh and a puncture in Andermatt screwed (no pun intended!) our last day there as we had to chase around for a tyre repair - luckily repairable and not a new tyre so OK for our onward journey to Annecy. Thank goodness for TPM.
Sorry to hear about your Mam - hope she is OK.

Get home safe bud, and best wishes to Mammy br d!

As long as she's giving you the appropriate level of grief, she's OK.

As always, if there's anything I can do in any way - shout. You've got my email and number.

Went back to the hotel to charge the phone earlier, came out to get some bits out of the car and a lovely woman said "Oh, is this your car?"
"Yes"
"Do you want to go to the bar" (next to the hotel).
Hooker.
At another hotel near German border, will try to do the rest tomorrow but aren't due to cross till next week so will probably have to pony up a fortune for the crossing.

But this!
Yes!
Hooker!
What's fking wrong with me!
Posh hotel, trashy looking bird asking an ugly bloke out for a drink!

Christ I'm losing it.

Worst thing is I've been paying everything on the card and still have a pile of cash I brought out.
I could have had the time of my life, we were right there at the hotel!

Must do better.

And to think I would have gone to some death trap underground strip bar and paid 5 times as much to watch bored crack heads wiggle their Chlamydic arses at me.

It might be time to hang up the keys.

STOP IT

I'm bloody pissing myself here, Mrs T is wondering what's going on.. This is just such a great thread and it's so funny, great entertainment and just as mad as a box of frogs.

Don't hang those keys up, for the sake of the sanity of the members of this forum!,. I'm, actualy scared to go out for a beer with you if ever I had the chance....

Best wishes to your mum mate. hope all turns out well.

Thanks for all the good wishes. Just spoke to sis again, said mum is fine, just tired from the testing and faffing.
She's in the best place, she's been under the weather for a while and now they are checking everything.
Hopefully this infection will be an antibiotics job and she can get back home.

Thanks for another great write-up, and all the best for a speedy recovery to Mrs br d Snr

Still biggrin at the bin tip! If it becomes a habit and you get caught, just claim your car keys were in there wink

That’s good to hear - fingers crossed.
I think we just missed you in Chamonix - we went through on 28th June on our way to Annecy from Andermatt. They still had the Mont Blanc Marathon staging over the road just outside of Vallorcine when we went through. We only managed the Furka, Grimsel & Susten passes due to our puncture - Furka was busy as it was a Sunday with lots of manic bikers but at least we got to do it again on a much quieter early Tuesday morning. The Swiss are a strange race - in their own country they drive like pussies but when they’re in another country it’s like someone has lit a fuse - particularly barnstorming RS6 Audi’s who fly past on the autobahns!
Safe travels 😎

Safe trip back Brad, hope you Mum is ok. We just arrived in Dijon.

Leaving the motorway behind now and heading to annecy via the Jura mountains then on to Val D’Isere tomorrow night.

Your thread has been fun but time to get home, I get that.

Safe trip.
