Paul SOL is the only genuine one I like and would watch his VLOG type videos. I like TGE as-well but feel his video's now are a bit more repetitive and much prefer his video's from around 2months ago.

Seb is just a bell and should look at getting a new job.
Try watching Seen through Glass, think you'll be pleasantly surprised, he's honest and his content is genuinely really good, especially right now.

Reminds me of that Eminem song.

Not quite a Vlogger but has anyone watched Doug DeMuro? He is probably somewhere inbetween a vlogger and a proper car tester as he doesnt do performance testing etc.

I only discovered him at the weekend and quite enjoyed his videos - he does good little segments about the little details and quirks of each car. Particularly enjoyed the ones about the F40/SLR and all of their little details.

Some good videos overall. Definitely worth a watch.
I'm really not a fan of Doug DeMuro. First of all, the titles of his videos really annoy me: they're all a version of "This is why [insert name of car here] is worth [insert high monetary value here]". I also find his style quite patronising and he come across as a little bit of a know-it-all. He does seem to be very popular though. I've also noticed that he casually presents opinion and hearsay as fact. Not that much of a big deal on its own but all these little things add up to leave a bad taste.

Agreed on Paul. Genuine, hard working decent chap.
Re my videos of late - bringing a new watch chat series to the table, quite literally on Sunday. Interested to see how it goes.
Guests etc will be featuring, with their collections et al going forward.

If you weren't aware pH has a full watch section on the main forum. Might be worth dropping a visit in there, obviously not for shameless self promotion mind winkwhistle

The comments towards Seb were a touch harsh, but it shows how viewers are responding to the way these guys are going about their business.

At least SOL and Seb have finally realised they've overextended themselves, and can go about being a little more responsible in the future.

We discussed at length much earlier in this thread how being a 'good YouTuber' is much more than just being the best presenter on camera; if that was all it came down to then my channel would be significantly smaller than it is!

There are so many more elements involved including setting up the content opportunities, managing the social media output, distributing the content you create on YouTube, pushing it to the right places and eventually actually getting it seen by as many eyeballs as you can. Just look at how much good stuff is out there but you never come across it other than by accident because the creator wasn't the best at pushing it around.

I consider that I make decent content, a long way from the best but up to most people's standards while having a very good understanding of publishing it to a large audience. In my mind one of my strengths is also in seeking out the opportunities to create such content and being relentless in the volume that my team push out across the social channels. However, I know better than anyone the work effort that requires and it is a 16 hour a day job, 7 days a week, every week - there is no such thing as a holiday or day off. The reality is, most people aren't going to commit to doing that as it means many other sacrifices in one's personal life but that's a choice we each make.
That is the best comment on the whole social media business i´ve seen in this thread.

It's crazy how Jake and Logan Paul have got over 10 million subscribers each in less than a year. I find it hard to see what's so appealing about them.

Wasn't a knock, but I think during the past couple of videos they have seem to be a bit less entertaining to watch than some you have produced in the last couple of months, something I can't "put my finger on" but maybe it's the same type of language keeps getting repeated and I think you should always keep it fresh (for want of a better word). I think the watch idea is great.

All in all much better than all of the other you-tube stuff at the moment so props for that!

I agree - both over-extended themselves in some way but I get the feeling Paul would be keeping it if it wasn't for the house. Seb just isn't making the bucks he thought he would.

At the moment it kind of seems the "group" of YouTubers got together a couple months/6 months ago and literally are all copying the same format to grow their channel. I spotted a few months ago it was all down to £££ for them now which is why Archie Hamilton is in no-way interesting for me.

Such a turn-off and we all tune-in everyday for their passion if anything else!

They've got a huge management and promo team, both Ex Disney channel so millions of adoring teen/preteen fans.

Both come across as utter bellends IMO but that's irrelevant as I'm not a teenage girl so not their target audience.

Another question towards Shmee & co:

Any there certain videos that have a long 'shelf life'? ie. ones from two or three years ago (or more) that still get regular views?

Very much so; namely anything to do with Aventadors!

Vlog style videos have no shelf life and get forgotten very quickly, whereas factual videos around a specific subject have a shelf life dependent upon that topic specifically; for example whether the car is still current.

Christ, Q Park under Park Lane is what, £50 a day? I've been robbed doing that every weekend.
There's lots of free parking in Kensington and Chelsea at the weekend! Just find some on road parking, rather than a multistorey. I once parked in Soho, in a mutlistorey car park (mid-week) and I'm pretty sure it was £20/hour! redface
That price in the article can’t be right (shocker for the daily mail to not have the facts!). £110 a week is ludicrously cheap - no way it’s that.

Seb was doing OK since the beginning of the year, his video production quality improved and his first video of 2017 was a drive in a couple SV's to Italy for ice cream which was fun to watch. But I feel it started going downhill for him around the Monaco F1, in particular when viewers started questioning him about the winners of some raffle/contest he was holding and the winners refused to reveal themselves on camera. I don't think he ever recovered from that because the whole thing was fishy and it turned off a lot of people.

Does kind of answer the original post in a way though, clearly in some eyes these guys are scammers. Not the eyes of world-weary PHers, but the eyes of the target demographics of the people making money from them.

Seb's videos only seem to be getting around 15,000 views on average so there's no way that will provide any sort of income. Not sure if he has endorsements but I doubt that, as a young man who lives in or is from Monaco, he'll be out begging for food any time soon!
