Under budget loveliness.
Oh they are lovely lovely things. Super manual at that. Had one, loved it, not the pinnacle of reliability tho.

Mine.

Running an Alfa in Sweden?! Summer only I presume, or did you watch it rust in front of your eyes?

Drove it over the winter aswell, washed 3 times a week tho. No rust when I sold it. Wish I could say that about my BMW...

New(ish) Alfas aren't that rust prone tbh.

There is a 156 on our street that has holes all over the doors, next time I'm home I'll get some pictures - the rust people in the UK moan about is nothing compared to what I've seen in Sweden laugh

Reliability concerns are for boring people.

That looks cracking. Possibly the first time I've ever felt an hankering for a Spur.

Had the transmission (5spd) serviced on the S211 early last week - the day after it suddenly started intemittently whining at low speeds around town. Oh dear I thought. Since then I've been driving it and not heard a peep. Anyone else experienced this or know what the hell could have happened?

I'm half tempted to get the levels re-checked to be sure. It feels spot on.

Pootling about in the 190 today, it really is perfect for these kind of roads and this weather.

No idea but I'd definitely be getting it checked just in case. I had the 5 speed gearbox serviced on my E38 a few years ago and never had what you're reporting.

Wonder how Iain is getting on driving back in the 745i!

Was a very easy selling experience and I'm glad to know it's gone to another PHer....so, I bought my 2nd car from PH as a result of shed of the week, I bought my E38 off a PH advert and sold to a fellow PHer from the barge thread, I then bought my E65 from a bargista here and sold it to a PHer hehe

The corolla.....was actually bought off a PHer as well (though he's a 2nd hand car dealer).

I like buying and selling from PHers as well. Generally much easier and it's nice to meet another barge enthusiast!

Amazing amount of car for the money!

I suppose the thing is that few people have the spare money to actually run such a thing...and those that do have sufficient money, by and large, don't run around in a 16 year old car? Hence, there isn't a great market for this type of car with a 6.0l V12 engine etc. etc.

If I was getting one of those it would have to be the BiTurbo. If you're going to have huge running costs, you might as well drive something with a lot of power.
