They get some pretty nice and well priced CSL's in. £27k for my least favourite colour and body shape isn't appealing though

I used to have a csl. They are lovely but they aren't worth anywhere near that type of money. IMHO.

I certainly wouldn't have one unless I had a lotto win or enough money that I wouldn't even notice £50k.

When I first saw this starting at £6k I thought it could be a good bit of nostalgic fun for anything up to about £10k
(I used to drive a standard Brat back in the early 90's)

But are people really bidding £20k and counting on it, or is there some shill bidding scammery going on?..

Looking at the bids, something dodgy is going on with the auction. Multiply bids £200 at a time.

Here's a real "bargain" - £3,395 for an utterly uninteresting base spec, 21 year old 406...

You'd need a proper low mile Peugeot fetish to even consider this. That's without taking into account the fact it's a poverty spec. model. I mean, there's niches, and there's niches.

It's hardly uninteresting...? 21 years old 15,000 miles and basically one owner from new and looks immaculate... I wouldn't say its seriously overpriced...

Seriously? What's interesting about it?!

Beyond the fact that any "time warp" condition car might, in a limited sense, be considered mildly interesting, I can hardly think of a less interesting car to preserve in that way! I mean, thousands of models of utterly ordinary cars have been produced over the years. Do they automatically become interesting if you just throw a dust sheet over them for 20 years? I don't think so.

When launched, it was perfectly nice looking and apparently handled okay. But it wasn't noteworthy in the slightest and I don't see why the passage of time should change that, per se.

If it was a V6 coupe model in a nice colour, it would be a different matter.

Looking at it from teh sellers point of view, he probbably paid £500 for it from his mate who works in Peugeot.

Stick it up for 4k, what's there to lose?

One of the dullest cars I have ever seen, and I used to own a Skoda Fabia!

I still think it's interesting and unique regardles of the basic spec... it'll probably end up in some classic auction (not soon) and will create interest I'm sure and sell not far £3K anyway....

Don't get me wrong, I have love for the Pug 406. My best mate had a 1.8 petrol LX model some years ago, and many was the time we howled with joy at its lift-off oversteer tendencies when driven hard.

I also piloted a MkII HDi example as a company car/pool car in the early noughties, and no matter how hard I thrashed the bloody thing (and I did!), I couldn't get it to do less than 45mpg.

But this base-model, plastic hubcap wearing garage queen does nothing for me.

£11,995 Accord Type R. Low miles but a simply silly price. Probably worth half that.

Pretty sure you could get a similar mileage F10 535i for £14k.
