X5 can really look nice in certain subtle colours.

FBMSH, last invoice 4.5k 8k miles ago - available for £5470. Jaysus.
Chaps. This is itching away at me for some reason I cannot quite fathom. Maybe it's the V8, maybe it's the double glazing, maybe its the 'fk you' of driving a planet eating 4x4 and never taking it offroad.http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2012...

Talk me out of chopping in an E39 530i Touring for it.

surely flogging those rims would pay for the car... they are OTT for me. I always remember the GS from the mid-90s with dished alloys being v cool. A la... (not for sale)http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/lexus-gs-se-/30079168981...

Lovely. Should have a space ball gearknob as a T5 though and it's Cedar Green, not Scabby Green (which is a very good thing). Would prefer it with two pedals though. But has it got enough buttons??

The manual 260PS T5 is quicker by the numbers than the heavier and AWD 300PS S60 R too IIRC. No active, switchable dampers to bork expensively either.
Plus some other things that put me off, i viewed it over a month ago and its still for sale............

Lets just say the director is more 'sparkhill' than Solihull.... Jobbo will know what I mean!
So you wouldnt buy a car from him because of his ethnicity? Edited by Rollcage on Thursday 11th October 22:03

Hey, it's try before you buy dear chap!!!
A lex - about what I figured and I know the thing is ok as he just did 250 miles on it in 2 days. Just wanted to check as I am not exactly a mechanical genius. Thanks mate. As you say, how far wrong can I go on what will be the smallest amount I have ever spent on a car, including my first ever car before I passed my test.
Seems like a decent enough mini barge for the winter and potential dog hack car, which is all I really want it for.
Sounds like a no brainer then - if its got any tax left on it and some life in the tyres, consider that a bonus. Im sure you could weigh it in for £250 so it really seems low/no risk.A lex - about what I figured and I know the thing is ok as he just did 250 miles on it in 2 days. In my experience cars that consistently rack up the miles are far better prospects when playing the banger game.

I know these aren't as big as a current S Class but somehow they manage to look like the most ENORMOUS car on the road. It's frightening and utterly wonderful to see the Tirpitz bearing down on you in the rear view mirror.

No but it has the scarey expensive lights, which are not in the best of health.

Is that the bulb warning light or just a general issue with the bi-xenons? Googling didn't clarify what the problem with this light setup is and why weren't they in the best of health. Plus some other things that put me off, i viewed it over a month ago and its still for sale............
Asking as I may buy one of these when I sell my Mustang.

Are you sure they are not as big as the current cars ? Can't be much in it and they are definitely larger than the W220 S-class.
W140s are indeed longer and wider than both W220 and W221.Ben

Can't say I've ever come across any general issue with Volvo bi-xenons. They can begin to fail and flicker, like any xenon light, but not especially more than any other car.Asking as I may buy one of these when I sell my Mustang.

Can't let this bad boy pass without comment. Irredeemably awful. The interior looks as though it's been made of smoking detritus, not smoking jackets (although maybe you are a velvet bow-tie sort of chap), and conflagration is what should happen to it. Just no.Advert said:
selling as not being used
On the face of it I totally understand his reasons for not wanting to drive it At £7k You would have to be UTTERLY MAD to buy this over a good 540i touring.
You could get a nice Impala for that money.
