Hi all, i was once again in Alderely Edge today as a mate told me that something special would be rolling through, however today exceeded everyone's expectations. Because i have so many photos, I'm going to upload the cars of note in stages, missing out the "identikit" modern supercars. But this is by far the spot of the day and probably the best spot I've ever seen

Monza SP2
ETA - this wasn't even the "something special " he was talking about!
I struggle to get my head around the idea that there's some kind of pre-alert system telling people when somebody is going out in their car. Unles they are only doing it because they want attention.

Oh. Hang on...

Would I be right in thinking that they have a fairly short commute then?

It was only known because a fellow spotter had organised a meet up of a few cars, not one of the owners themselves

Black Carrera GT today just outside Baldock. I was going too fast, as was he, for any photos. Anyone on here own that beauty?

You would be wink

However I walk around here a fair bit and rarely see the cars so I don't think they live exactly here. I wouldn't want to post their homes if I knew they lived there.

It kind of explains the proliferaton of hand car wash sites around these days. There's obviously money in washing cars.
A lot of money in PPF and Topaz skin. A few of Shmee invoices probably paid for those cars. He must spend a fortune in Topaz, every time he gets a new motor it's off to Topaz for a full valet and £20k of PPF

I presumed, possibly incorrectly, that he either got it for free or for a substantial discount, for the advertising accrued to Topaz

Maybe the £20k PPF is the substantial discount!

Love the irony that many of these people are doing ultra low miles in cars they won't keep for very long and spending a fortune on a glorified plastic bag to protect them.

all about the resale. From what i understand about 'that world' is that if you have enough money to put in at the start, and maybe profile helps too but not the only factor, you can become known to manufacturers and get invited to buy limited editions and so on. I think at any one time someone like Shmee probably has about 5 or 6 cars on order, given that they may take ages to turn up. Keep each almost showroom condition, make some stupid youtube videos, sell each car at a big profit due to it being limited, and keep going like that, almost with a pipeline of new cars coming in. That's how they always have the latest amazing thing. At some point you probably don't need to keep putting money into it, as it almost sustains itself, even if you didn't have youtube ad revenue coming in, which he clearly does in massive amounts. Less about being a petrolhead and more about treating it all as a business.

Alderley Edge Pt.1
I've missed out the "usual" cars like 488's, California's and 570s.

...and making a living off price-gouging genuine petrolheads who then have to pay over the odds to buy the car of their dreams.

Main reason I despise these sort of people. That the whole 'Social Media Personality' thing is just so much attention-grabbing, freeloading st is a close second...

He's a local, he's got an amazing collection of Rolls Royces, including the "Jewel Collection", plus a Veyron and a 918 Spyder.

( paperbag it must be ghastly, living in such a showy place as Alderley Edge, for someone like me I add. Each to their own.....)

I'm not sure which bit makes me cringe more; the cars driving around looking for attention, or the throngs of people on the pavements providing it.

First spot in a while for obvious reasons - found this ridiculously fresh throwback sat alone in a Guildford multi-storey car park at the weekend. My friend suggests that if its a real 2.7 it's a pretty big deal.
