My old Porsche Boxster has just turned up for sale with a mismatched repainted front wing, but the same tyres as when I had it:

And my old Rover is still alive and in rude health.

While this thread is on the main page i'll post this up biggrin

Would love to find my old 205 Gti 1.6 Sorrento Green G110 VGE

It left me in early 07, my mate then sold it to a chap in Hamilton. I saw it then for sale in the yellow paper mot'd and presumably with the blue smokescreen fault fixed but my now wife told me not to buy it back as my dad would be mad

Its last mot ran out in 2011, had a keeper change in 2016 and is in the Forth Valley area of Scotland somewhere.

Thanks
Retroste surely knows enough scrap dealers and collectors to locate that for you!

My 69 4 speed 350 cu Daytona Yellow Corvette Stingray. I stupidly sold it in July 95, to a “ trader “ who was sending every Corvette he could buy, out to France to a dealer who he called “ Pierre “
I asked him over 12 years later who it went to, but he refused to tell me, ffs !!
It could be anywhere in Europe now, but possibly in Sweden.

Had a go on MOT check for my old Skoda,

I sold in April 2011 with 136k miles. It then showed up 2 years later for its next test with 202k miles. It failed, then failed again a month later with 208k miles.

It then shows up again 1 year later with 233k miles as another failure. It then passed a few days later and then MOT expired may 2015.

I guess whoever bought it drove it around with no MOT for a while. Tax ran out on September 1st 2014.

So it's not be SORN or scrapped I don't think. So it's either sat rotting or being driven without either.

Edit: Googled the numberplate and first thing that comes up is a thing from Plymouth Council and a them suspending a private hire driver for driving around in it with damage, faulty number plates and tyres down to the canvass.

Really regretted selling my old 106 Rallye, would love to find out what happened to R40LYE, it had a couple of mots after I sold it but nothing since it expired in 2009 frown It has a current SORN on it and I'm guessing if a car is SORN it is at least not scrapped?

Edit: 10 years ago wow!

There’s a bloke in Llandeilo with a storage unit on the main road who seems to be buying up all the mr2s he can get his hands on in any condition. May be worth a try there - there are loads of them there.

Hello everyone.

Thought I'd jump on this while it was still semi-active (with a hope & a prayer).

I'm trying to find my old Skoda Fabia Mk1 (HTP 1.2), Reg SF04 GRA.

It was a hand-me-down from my brother that I then learnt to drive in, and we were both very fond of it. I wasn't able to keep it when I moved, and had to sell it. I was hoping to find it again, fix it up myself and pass it back to him for his 40th.

We sold it in 2011. Looks like it got passed about a bit until the end of 2016 when it was sold at a car auction in Manchester (Radcliffe Car Auctions). MOT & Road Tax expired about 6months later in the summer of 2017.

It's not been SORN, and there's no record of being scrapped / written off. I contacted Radcliffe but they wouldn't pass my details to the latest recorded owner.

Any help would be hugely appreciated, but I understand it's a long shot!

Cheers.

I've got some bad news, I'm afraid... According to the DVLA, your old Skoda's MoT expired on 3rd July 2017. As it's a standard sort of a vehicle (i.e. not rare or particularly collectable), it's highly unlikely to be tucked away in a garage somewhere.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. frown
