Supercars spotted, some rarities (vol 7)
Discussion
Lord Benny and Havoc,
When I bought the car about 18+ years ago, I wanted to upgrade the brakes and in doing so the new calipers wouldn't fit under the stock 15" Campagnolos. So, at the time, the clones were 17" diameter wheels and that's what I went with. It also gave you a little more choice of tires as only Pirelli sometimes makes the original 15" ultra wide tires, and only on a very limited basis. The rear tires on my car are 335's, positively enormous.

A labour of love.In 1975 I was pumping petrol and the word went round that the owner of the garage had traded his Silver Shadow for a sportscar and it was a bit special.
"What is it," I asked.
"A Deeter Martin."
The De Tomaso Pantera has had a special place in my affections ever since.

I own one of these, but a convertible and in Azurite Green. Original from the factory with the AMG II kit, but the lowered suspension, AMG I ducktail and 19 inch wheels were the last owner's idea, and are horrid both for looks and ride. Going back to original 17s, which I have, and correct suspension height. Also needs a new hood and retrim for the front seats. Lovely old boat though and really quite nice looking. As someone later in the thread remarked - this would have been pretty vulgar in the mod 90's, but today I rather enjoy it's drug-dealer chic...

Originality is great for investors, but if you're a keen driver, sometimes it gets in the way...
