AFAIK it is a Thai Embassy car, pristine Green 190E last time i saw it.
1987 190E 516,470 miles at last MOT in Feb 18 - it's had an advisory notice for a 'slight noise on rear axle bearings' for the last 3 years during which time it's done 46,758 miles - so a well used Merc smile

At the most recent DVLA plate auction FER 812S was listed for a reserve of £250

Bargain for the discerning 812 Superfast owner you might think (or maybe not, depending on your opinion on 'real good' number plates)

Obviously not just me that saw it as it sold for approx £18k inc fees. Just as well it wasn't listed as a fixed price!

Wow!

Looked fresh out of showroom when I saw it a couple of years ago.

None of these are amazing, I suppose 5 KT will be most valuable. At the time of the photo the CLK was still with its first owner, which I liked - however the registration appears to have moved onto an A5 now.

Original issue by Smethwick in 1953. I wonder if some of the diplo plates were just reissued if 'dead'?

Which is what the car will be worth when Tesla goes bust.

If they go bust I'd put money on Mercedes buying them, were using MB switchgear from the off & Merc do seem a bit behind the EV curve imo.

My daughter has a relatively uncommon 7-letter name (but based on a real name spelt correctly that has mythological origins), and it's one that people tend to say "ooh that's pretty" at.
(just to clarify it isn't uncommon due to being trashy or badly spelt like "Elyzabeff" or "Champagne-Mercedes").

I've seen a new-style plate that is pretty much her name spelt out, from the DVLA, for under £500. It's bugging me whether I should invest in it for her (she's not even 2 yet, mind) on the gamble that other girls might end up with that same name and number plates will be of value in another 15 years or so.

Anyone ever done similar? Mrs wasn't impressed at the suggestion, mind, but she has little or no interest in cars or investments.

I bought both my kids "cheap" plates when they were years away from learning to drive. They are both in their late 20s now and the plates still adorn their cars. I see nothing wrong with what you are thinking of. If she doesn't like the plate when she grows up - not much loss to you.

FiL did this for Mrs Jim AK & her siblings 20+ years ago.

Her brother no longer has his but the 2 sisters do, even though their surnames no longer begin with P!!.

I actually hate the plate we have as her initials pre marriage were GMP!!

Totally unsuitable for a ‘posh bird’ from Esher!!
