The cyclist that I stumbled upon this morning, in the dark, on a dark country road with no lights and the only reflective articles being those tiny little reflectors fitted to the bike as standard. Thankfully I'd clocked him far enough back (very much a case of 'what the hell is that?' at the tiny little red dot) to slow down as the combination of lights of an oncoming van and the undulation of the road meant he suddenly became invisible.

His riding was fine, just the complete lack of awareness about his visibility.
Yes. Passed a cyclist, oncoming, yesterday. Duskish / early darkness. He was totally black, clothing, helmet and bike. No lights of course. Under that helmet sits a cabbage.
I don't get it, but, at the end of the day, they're the ones who are going to end up hurt. I've had lights run out on me before, but I managed to keep my lights running for 100 miles in the dark (basically the whole night!) on Friday/Saturday.

At the same time, I can be lit up like a Christmas tree, and still have cars somehow not see (or just not care about) me.

Sure this is going to be popular... cyclists and roadworks. 2 traffic controlled and single lane roadworks on my commute;

Knob #1: Deciding to go uphill through the first set, light was green for me and the four other cars behind (it's dark you can see the reflection) because cyclist knob-head crawls up, the person waiting at the lights at the top of the hill was quite right in shouting at your selfish arse. I know they have every right to blah blah but really when its me in those situations I either get on with it or use the path instead of holding up a ton of people.

Its possible the light was green for the cyclist and it had changed by the time they were still cycling in the controlled area. I've had this happen on my bike on a long controlled length with no path. By the time I got to the other end I had an irate driver shouting at me. I said it was green my end, what do you want me to do, fly? I don't know why the lights arn't adjusted for cyclists to make it through.

Anyway again tried to accelerate but not much happened, I thought A6's smallest TDI was the 3 litre?
There's a 2 litre "ultra" one, I had one as a courtesy car, it was pretty gutless in a car that large.

Was green for the cyclist then the 7 cars behind them (I was car 3), my point was the way they went up the hill of a single lane of traffic at 0.0001mph. I think they were a knob because whenever I've been on my bicycle in that situation I've either gone on the pavement (walking or riding) or I've tried to do some form of speed on road.

How could roadwork lights account for the variability in speed between cyclists? It would just increase the traffic problems/flow around the roadworks more than they already do.

Motorcyclists who think "filtering" = driving down the oncoming lane and expecting drivers coming the other way to move over.
Filtering. I would argue one of the most hazardous and sometimes foolhardy highway manouevres.

queueing in traffic. I would argue one of the most hazardous and sometimes foolhardy highway manouvres.

I get why you might think that though, as there's a fair share of dheads on bikes.

Walked to McDonalds from the car park and as I get up to the last car in the queue I see some low life kid, about 12, just emptying rubbish out of the car window. I gave her the 'WTF' look and almost a split second alter I heard her in-bred mother shouting. As I walk around the car she says 'What??' I say 'Your kid was just chucking st out of the window' (car was full of it and a bit of a shame as it was once a nice Audi A1 S-Line). She says 'I'didn't see it.' I decide my time is not worth wasting on this chav and walk off while she inexplicably leans on the car horn. Low life scumbags/Knobs.

The McDonalds drive through seems to be a magnet for selfish horrible people. I can't believe the way people act, honking their horns repeatedly because the line isn't moving fast enough for them, moaning at the staff, occasional car that must be first in the merge and messing up the sequence of the order, lots of stupid revving of engines, playing music so loud with the windows down so the world can hear.

I can't imagine what the staff think having to deal with that regularly.

It is an entertaining people watch site though.

Next time make a note of the number plate and report it to the council for fly tipping.

Back to my post and as I said I understand the need for retailers to be ahead of the curve but festive cups in November are a bit like council estate fairy lights being on already. rolleyes

Don't be such a fanny. Go and pick up their rubbish and push it back though the open window. Extra PBD points if they subsequently get out and stab you.
