I saw 2 OO a couple of months back, on a Panamera.

..And also this, back in the summer.

..Yes, it maybe should be in the other thread, but it's relevant to this post.

I saw an old friend in her Merc yesterday with CJF 1 on it. She will have bought it fairly recently and paid a lot for it. It's a cool plate.

But isn't there a risk that sooner or later the government will do what they do in the US? You can have whatever plate you want for £250 (say) and everyone can afford one.

The government doesn't have a track record for looking after the investments of the population, so why wouldn't they do it?

Don't think this will happen anytime soon with the amount of money lining the coffers from DVLA selling C124PPY plates to vacuous chavs with the clear intention of illegal butchering to boost their desperate vanity.

In the unlikely event of it happening I for one would feel sorry for your friend but would be delighted at seeing the increasing number of illegal Chavplates being relatively worthless overnight and on this basis it cannot come soon enough.

I know the spacing is wrong but I like plates that are all the same / similar letters and numbers.

Blimey. Quite pricey for those days then.

Cannot honestly recall what it was on. Some mini SUV thing but certainly nothing stand out like the Huracan with the Quest plate that was in the same spot last week.

Quite, So DVLA has everything to gain by making private plates mainstream.

If you can buy AV185 for your car for £250, you will bin your current AVL8S plate that you've butchered, mis-spaced and messed about with and buy what you actually want. I imagine the sale of plates currently is nothing compared to the "£250 for your name, properly spelled" deal that they should offer.
