Proper engined SL within a whisker of thread - MOT is clean (needs a brake overhaul and the fake AMG badge screwdrivered off) but worth a look surely? Someone needs to tell the vendor that his camera has another setting other than "wide angle"....

You sir have just pulled a cracker there, well done. Has the rare and expensive AMG kit and wheels which mine had. Also with the boot badge which makes me think they had that added at factory or dealership. Although the alignment of that one looks off.

I'm on my phone so photos aren't filling in the gaps in the text so I can't zoom in to see the spec. I love keyless entry and start so that's the main option I look for. Then vented massage seats are a nice uplift over just heated which that car is. Everytime else is pretty standard.
The main issue with that might be ABC so due diligence would be required. Overall it's a tempting car on the face of it and probably won't be for sale for long unless there's demon's lurking.
I really like this version of the SL. Looks very classy and elegant. cool

I agree. The 129 SL has a brutalist charm but this is much prettier.

Well my friends, I'm rather upset.

Narrow country lane, Hilux towing a trailer with an excavator on it was coming the other way, I stopped and was about to back up, but he tried to squeeze through anyway, and failed. He dragged his trailer along the full length of my car at walking pace.

Very sorry to see that. I'm sure it makes you feel about sick. Hopefully you find someone up to the job of repairing it.

This is my biggest concern. My insurers opening gambit was a smart repairer, which I rejected. I explained the nature of the vehicle and the paint, but they've put me onto a middling repairer with middling reviews, which would be fine were it any 14 year old Toyota. I'm going to get a quote from Chartwells Derby and steer them in that direction.

Just googled it you can take it to anyone you want, you don't have to use who the insurance company say

That's an absolute nightmare scenario 21stCM. Needless to say that it'll never achieve the same quality of finish as the most artisan body repairers in the world, save for RR spec automotive finishers?

Would it be cheaper/simpler to write it off and re-import another, rather than await the roll of the dice outcome of a 'specialist' paint job?

That's a nightmare 21stCM. How the hell is a bodyshop going to match factory Century paint? Sending barge best wishes

Apart from the rear arch trim, it's just paint, whilst there are a couple of light depressions at the worst of the door scuffs, I really don't think it warrants new panels, I think it's all fixable. The front wing and rear 3/4 aren't far off polish out level, there's no panel damage to them at least. I don't think we're anywhere near write off territory.

Best of luck with it, thank goodness the morals of the Hilux driver are higher than his driving standards.

I’ve not seen a Century in the flesh so can’t comment on quality (although I can imagine) but I can’t believe it won’t be fully repairable Shirley?
