Cant see an issue personally, right tool for the job etc. This will be used in urban areas, not high speed motorway chases.....
Ed Zachery. Its not as if they will on the M25 chasing speeders, more going round the houses telling loved ones of their loss. Or whatever else they do around town... erics said:
If the 6ft5 chap wearing 12 size shoes (each look like a small boat) really drives this exige around, i'll eat my hat.
Have you seen the footwell and pedals in an elise?
Can you imagine the point in a car chase when the scrote in a stolen corsa jumps out and belts it over a wall and through someones garden. I can just see the PC now crawling out shouting "come back" followed by grunts and muttering "for fk sake what a stupid car" under his breath while clambering up off the road!!Have you seen the footwell and pedals in an elise?

I was about to comment about the Q7 in Glasgow, but somebody beat me to it... A few years ago that was in the Scotsman, and the article mentioned the police fear that the gang it was taken from would be seeking prompt revenge. Don't think it's been seen much since then...
Also, as mentioned, in Edinburgh there a couple of police Smart cars. I openly laughed when I saw one; the men inside (2 fully grown men) didn't look too impressed.

What's amusing about this ? Police being careful about their spending budgets, what's not to like ?
Perhaps you might like to pay higher rates so they can ride around in a luxobarge.

If they want to be THAT careful, buy them some pushbikes.Police being careful about their spending budgets, what's not to like ?

Supposedly for 'local' use aren't they ?
Who is going to tax, insure and maintain these foreign products ?
Another fine example of taxpayers' money being squandered.
