Fiesta ST to 350z, am I mad?

This is strange, i currently own a fiesta ST and a 350Z was a car was eyeing up for my next venture ( if i dont buy a house before hand) and am the same age.

Id get the facelift version with the 313bhp motor if anything to say

In a nutshell, I'd say go for it. The 350Z isn't a brutally fast car, but it will be quick enough when you're used to a 150bhp hot hatch. The gearing is quite long, so its a bit deceptive how quick your going.

Its a excellent car for learning how to drive RWD. It is easy on the limit, has tons of grip, and it won't try kill you at every opportunity. Its a hoot to drive, sounds great (especially with an aftermarket exhaust) and is rare enough to make it feel a bit special every time you jump in it. On the motorway you can nudge over 30mpg if you dirve sensibly. Servicing costs between £150-£400 depending on the type of service.

Those running costs sound almost the same as a Monaro, although the Aussie is cheaper to service. Have you thought about one, OP? Early ones (2004) are around the £8k mark these days.

Aha yeah, think I've seen your car over on fordfiestast.co.uk! It's a lovely looking thing.

The facelift doesn't justify the extra cost for me, they seem to be £3k ish dearer. I'd rather keep that kind of cash back for thinking about a house!

I'd try and stretch it to a Z4 3.0Si Sport Coupe rather than a 350Z.
