Thought it might be quicker than those fiqures suggest considering its price & weight,at least there are not any driver aids for good fun & games!
As others have said its designed to handle rather than have outright pace.
Seems pricey to me, TVR went down the toilet & only charged between roughly 40k to 55k,it has limited appeal, but thats a good thing.
How much would 40k to 55k be in todays money? As others have said its designed to handle rather than have outright pace.

It only needs limited appeal to sell 1 per week.
Seems a great car, nicely driver focused without being a track only car. Something different.

British hand built, exlusive and only £68,000.00 , i am amazed they can produce it for that price and include a margin.
As for the people who say its to expensive...you really have no idea what it costs to produce a "production" ready vehicle. This is not the late 80's early 90's anymore!
Cars aren't worth what they cost to build plus a margin, they're worth what people are willing to pay for them. As for the people who say its to expensive...you really have no idea what it costs to produce a "production" ready vehicle. This is not the late 80's early 90's anymore!
Given the numbers they're talking about, I suspect they'll sell them though. They aren't trying to compete on price with other manufacturers, they're banking on exclusivity.

Of course, other problem is that I am in Switzerland and I doubt Ginetta are selling to that market.
I ordered Farbio GTS350/F400/G60 LHD for Germany 2 years ago, so I think you can do so for Switzerland. That´s not the problem, but I think you worry about approval ?! That´s a problem indeed.
I cann´t tell a lot about the cars act. specs, because there are so many changes since I drove it last time, but there never has been ABS. And what´s about changes in electrical window mechanism, is it gone now ?
Either way I am looking forward to getting one of the first G60 soon.
50 cars/year, that´s nearly one a week. So it cann´t take so long now, can it?
@ Chris
are there some more pictures showing interieur (new dashboard), Front and rear lights and New Carbon Fibre Air intake?

It looks fantastic but looking at the price I ask myself, would I buy this over a Nissan GTR?
Why stop there when you could have a nice Mercedes S-class limo?only making 50 cars per year they count as a small car manufacturer so can get away with not doing as many crash tests and having stuff like ABS or even complying with emissions targets. if they planed to sell more they would have to spend a fortune on prototypes for crash tests. and developing ABS costs millions. it takes bosh 2 winters of testing in ice and snow to develope an ABS system for a new car.
the single reason they can get it down to 1080kg is because they don't have to meet eu standards becasue of the volume they plan to sell. as soon as they want to sell more cars they will have to increase the weight and the price.

That's why I think G40R will be a success. However, this G60 won't. But if they could charge the same amount (£68+) for a road version of their G55 GT3 racing car, then that'll be a different matter. Well, I would certainly consider to sell one of my kidney for a G55 at a price of entry level 991.

Anyone else surprised by the 0-60 time of 4.9s considering it's got 300HP per ton?
0-60 time is influenced by traction (no electronics so no launch control on this) and gearing and gearbox (no double-clutch cleverness). Plus they could be quoting conservative figures. 0-60 is not that relevant in the real world. I'd be more interested in 30-70 or in-gear flexibility.some say less than 4 sec http://www.worldcarfans.com/111100437136/ginetta-g...

So how come Haymarkets sister magazine is calling this car a G40R and the PH site is calling it a G60? Surely being the younger smaller car in the range, it's unlikely to get a higher number than the G50/55?
This car (in the article) is the G60 which was called the F400 earlier. The G40R is the different, smaller car. The G50/G55 is racecar-only in reality (IIRC).RudeDog said:
I think you'd be mad to buy this over an Evora S or a Cayman R... both considerably cheaper.
I guess it depends how much you value the "unassisted" philosophy of this car.Twincam16 said:
I get the point about ABS though. It hardly detracts from the driving experience and it is IMO one of the things that seriously undermined TVR.
In TVR's case I'll go with that as the cars had (and frankly needed) a servo anyway, OTOH the early Elise 111R's servoed brake pedal felt horrible compared to the K-series cars which did without an ABS system (which necessitates a servo).Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
