Things you found on your car, after a period of ownership
Discussion
My first Mustang (97). Had it a couple of years before I found the overdrive switch under/behind the automatic gear lever handle. All it did was turn it off/on - so since it's on automatically by default, I never used it anyway.
After a few months I also noticed that lifting the door handle (even when locked, or not opening the door), turned on the interior lights.

200SX - 11months in, I found rust.
Alfa - 3days in, I found the gearbox wasn't just "worn" but actually fekked.
Focus mk2 - Fog lights on pull switch.
MG ZR 105+ - 14months in, discovered it didn't have ABS after all as I skidded down the M1 in a cloud of smoke
Volvo C70 LPT - 3years in, discovered that it had a washer bottle indicator when it became faulty

I'd had my Puma eight months before I realised the back seats DO fold down....
AND was shown how to do it by my mates Mum.
The shame... the shame...
Don't feel too bad, I was the same with my 306 rallye, although I had to ask on the owners club.AND was shown how to do it by my mates Mum.

I went full retard. You should never go full retard.
Not on my latest car but I had a 2002 V6 Mondeo some time ago and discovered after about 8 months of ownership, if you leave the windows down and press and hold the central locking, they all automatically close. Never knew this and used to park the car with a window or two down on purpose to "show off" my new discovery :-)

Most cars do the same. Try holding the 'open' one for a while too Stu R said:

Most cars do the same. Try holding the 'open' one for a while too Rule 16, paragraph 5 sub section C of the "being a man act" states, and I quote, "Never read a manual of any sort. You're a man, what do you need a book for?"
