I don't mean all just r8s, but £50k+ cars....
Probably. But not many supercars. A 530d can cost £50k if you spec it!!

Some very jealous people on this thread.

Look at the OP's username, he's clearly a drug dealer therefore I don't see why anyone is doubting his ability to afford an R8 confused
I'm not a drug dealer!!!

I'm addicted to R8's.. smile

And with the 5.2 V10. Do I drive this before or after the insurers have raped my ass.

The belle on the left is gonna be called a gold-digger!

A: She is -Good news-Happy ending.

B: She isn't -Bad news-Relationship.

You'll be popular one way or another. Start contemplating which Sunseeker now.

By "self insure", do people mean have more than £5,000,000 in the bank, so you don't need an insurance company?

Also OP if genuine thread you should manage to get insurance from a specialist, countless footballers young film stars etc. Manage somehow.

I'm getting quotes of about £1200 for a Caterham with performance not far off your r8. Ok it's probably not worth a 5th of an average r8. But it's a quick car and I'm 21 living in "Liverpool". So I would imagine it's possible for you to insure it. Look at limited mileage policies.

I was under the impression that it was far less than five million. Regardless, he said money isn't an issue. wink

How many of your friends drive that sort of car?

It is lonely at the top. Think carefully before you single yourself out by your actions.

Be sociable, get more seats but same powerrrr.

I had an entirely reasonable £600 premium on a Maserati at 25 from Michael Ward Associates, not sure if they're still going as it looks like they trade under another name, but worth a quick phone call.

Beaten to it by M44KTS.

But yes, was Michael Ward Associates (someone advised me on here to go with them)- from what I can understand is that they got swallowed up into Mercury West Associates.

The policy I had was classed as a future classic limited mileage with agreed value, was easily £1500 cheaper than other quotes.

Are we ever going to know what cars you have driven before?

Just that going from a corsa to an r8 probably wont end well.

At 19 I used Auto Trader insurance - I'd steer clear of them if I were you, they decided to bump my policy up three-fold on the year's renewal (Impreza STi). In the past year I've had a VX220 Turbo and an M3, granted not of the same caliber as an R8 but I insured through Admiral and Elephant - they're both owned by the same company so should return very similar quotes. Come to think of it, a girl I used to see had a V8 R8 and was also insured through Elephant (she was 20). Always worth a shot!

I assumed they were pace ward now? Or atleast the 'ward' was the same person? Might be well wrong though....
Oh, could be, but when my renewal came through, I'm sure it was on Mercury West headed paper...

That's exactly how I did it.
