I bought an ex-camera car that'd been used for filming horseracing (not BBC). It appeared in the main camera shots regularly, and featured at least once to my knowledge when they showed a picture in picture comparison of the stability of the camera compared to the car fishtailing and bouncing around York racecourse (back in the days when it was muddy, slippery and fairly rough).
Oh, and obviously it contributed towards a significant amount of the actual race coverage.
Car in question was a 1996 Discovery V8. Needed a bit of an overhaul when I got hold of it.

If you can be arsed to watch this and the following 3 other parts on You Tube then you'll see my Porsche 911 in an ITV re-construction called 'Death of a Hostess', which is the story of Lucie Blackman going missing in Japan and being found dead.
It was great fun - I was on the film set down in Sandbanks, Poole - they were using a flat there becasue it loked a bit like the one in Japan.
They drove my car around the block a few times with the actors in it, and did some static shots outside the apartment.
I arrived at 10am as requested, and they let me go at 2pm. They fed me lunch, and I got paid £150 for the use of the car. They were VERY careful and respectful of my car. The actors and crew were also a great laugh, all with good senses of humour!
Without shame I also asked the actress playing 'Lucie' out for a drink too, but she said she already lived with a boyfriend (she may or may not have been lying about that to get out of my unsolicited advances, who knows? )
The whole morning was good fun and I learned a lot about TV. The only trouble is that from lots of footage shot of the car, as seems to be the norm with filming, only a few seconds of it actually appeared on the programme
But was still my car immortalised on TV!
