Looks nice, but hardly a Can-am version IMHO.
Do that on the spyder version, but get rid of all the glass, including cutting off the front windscreen.
Like Koenig did with a Diablo? Do that on the spyder version, but get rid of all the glass, including cutting off the front windscreen.
I'm pretty sure despite the claims of 5 Koenig's being built, that there were only 2 cars which aped the original prototype, both yellow.
(Edited to remove a load of pointless rambling which no one but me is interested in)

Hmmm...not sure about this. As Can Am ran virtually unregulated according to international Group 7 regs., a derivative of GT3 - a formula with a balance of performance adjustment - seems a bit weird. Still, what do I know. I'm sure it goes well enough. For me, McLaren and Can Am will forever be about this:

Hard to engineer 8 trumpet intakes for two turbocharger intakes.

Right .. they should have throw it out and fitted a 7 litre side oiler Ford V8 C
(hint.... the original Can-Am M8's (and Chapparals etc) used a tuned version of the ally block/head Chevy ZL-1 427ci big-block )

I really wish Mclaren and othes would stop rehashing old themes, its a new car, new tech new ect do something new.... a better colour scheme for a start that tango orange does not flatter the car at all.
It's about their heritage (and Bruce) not about whether it flatters the cars looks or not pagani1 said:
I saw 4 McLaren's in Chichester today 2 black and 2 orange all labelled "Pure" it's taken me ages to wash my jeans! Love the Can Am newco in the USA but where is the new F1 (out in Paris?)
May have even be me driving one of them All part of the pure mclaren experience day, includes a decent road route before a couple of track sessions at Goodwood. I'll be honest, I've had worse days Krikkit said:

Any chance that, if you threw them enough money, they could make your road-going MP4-12C look a bit like that?
I'm sure they would, would need a big cheque though, I imagine the crash regs make that very hard work.Crash test and warranty complications are merely side stepped by disclaimer forms, that way liability is removed from the manufacturer. Aston Martin and Porsche already have specialist sub-divisions within their relative organisations that do one off examples for individuals with acquired tastes. McLaren too have a version of this, McLaren Special Operations.
All the ingredients are in place so it could well be that a replica is not that far off the radar.
Ahh, very nice car. The trouble is that it is an enhanced version of a car that I deeply respect but simply do not love. It is clear that te MP4-xxx is the new best mid-engine supercar in the world. Better than Ferrari, much better than Lambo, and better even that all of the other hyper-priced or one-off giga-cars. But it is just plain. Almost homely. And swathed in orange and fibre is just playing dress-up of said plan-mobile.
Those other Can-Am photos make we perspire more than just a bit. Now THAT is a good sign of love.
