I know where two blue cars are - under a sheet in my mates field - where they have been for the past 10 years - makes me sad. No matter what I say he won't do anything with them. Bugger!

280 brake was a good few seasons back - well over 300 at last count!

I bought the black one that clarkson used in the top 100 cars part 3 video earlier this year.It has only done 32k miles with full history and it is great fun.Always wanted one when growing up but had to settle for the cheaper option of the fiat mirafiori 131 sport which was great fun but not in the same league of performance.

I'm not surprised that sold quickly. Lovely car.
This is a nice one that I see occasionally.

Lovely car. Haven't thought about or seen one of these for years and then last night I saw a DAC registered car on a flat bed travelling south on the M1 through Leicestershire. This one maybe?
Probably not its first time on the back of a recovery vehicle wink

Here's 10 of the 'DAC' cars parked up for a photo at the sub-meeting I organised, (some 22 years ago redface) which was the catalyst for the later setting up of SLOC.

I was fortunate enough to own XTC 114v for many years.

Here's a picture of her with Des Odell .

Was reasonably standard other than roll top billies, bigger brakes and a skip brown exhaust which was a tad loud. Was really fast but felt fragile

Back in those days and before, I used to frequent (regularly) Rootes(as it was then) Chrysler/Sunbeam/Talbot garages (for Imp parts mainly).
During the changeovers some real bargains could be had.
Brand new Imp transaxles at up to 70% discount and so on.

What's this got to do with the good old Talbot Sunbeam Lotus?

Well, at least the one for sale (or now sold) has the correct one-off alloys, and not what you usually see, Minilite lookalikes.

There was oversupply of these special alloys for the TSL and at the time I was building a particular kit car, I mentioned in the Chrysler dealer (which still had alarge cardboard cutout of singer Petula Clark who'd been telling you to put a new Chrysler Sunbeam in your life a few years earlier). I was after some alloys. My lucky day... batches of the TSLoti alloys were stacked up in the Chrysler/Talbot Spares Dept - new, shiny, boxed and going ...for a song!
Just the right pcd to fit the kit car in question.

I think I paid just 30 quid for the set!!!
Wonder what a set of these original alloys fetch now?
In fact, the Petula Clark cutout is prob a collector's item now too.

Here's the proof of the alloys on the car in 1983.
Ah the old Rickman Ranger??

never miss a chance to post a pic of my baby :-)
absolutely love it, nippy for what it is, attracts (way too much) attention and people seem to love it wherever its parked up. love the rwd , plate diff, handling, looks, carb noise and dog box.
i looked at so many tatty rwd cars that were too much money and victims of their own popularity.
the SL is not perfect of course but for a 1980s car with rally heritage i love it :-)

Very nice ! Maybe it's the four massive fog/driving lights that make people notice it confused

Those wheels were also fitted to later Ti models and a fwd version (different offset/size) was fitted to special editions of Horizon. I've also seen them on a FIAT Panda in the Alps.

Four cylinders, 2170cc and 152bhp - and 19mpg. eek
150hp was an 'insurance' hp figure, almost all of them were higher than that.
Not according to the (specialist) tuners who set up mine who said that even the works rally cars only had 160, 145 being an exceptional road car.

Tuned for max power on a fully rebuilt engine with stage 2 heads mine was 138 from memory, finally losing 5bhp odd to get better driveability.

Different roads, different horses I know but would be interesting to hear what others have found.
