1545Kg? I hope that's with 2 passengers and a full tank. Most cars of that size are around 1350Kg.

Cracking standing start performance figures though, and fuel economy pretty good too.
BWM say 1520kg with fuel and driver (test car had extras adding the extra weight?)

Quite! With the turbo lump I'm sure the 135 would be more flexible and easier to drive quicker. When you look at it like that, it's a ruddy performance bargain.
Bound to be some comparisons coming up in the next few weeks

That is some proper performance! At least with the 'challenging' looks you know the trendy wannabes will go for an A3 instead. In the metal with the M body kit it looks a lot better than the photos would suggest.

Btw up against an e46 M3, would I be right in thinking this would give it a spanking?
Probably, but i know what i'd prefer to be getting out of and glancing back at after the drive, and it wouldnt be the 1er!!! cool

BMW really know how to make turbo charged engines.
Afraid not, they know how to make a gearbox and traction control system that allows you to do the quoted 0-60 times.

Personally I don't think the e46 is ageing very well. Even the m3s I see look rather dated.

Test drove one last weekend, had a real Jekyll and Hyde personality. Didn't really get a chance to get under my skin so think I NEED another drive as i was all set to order!

Very fast, very accessible tho.

PS I like the looks!

I got a quote just out of curiosity, 338 quid. That's 200 less than I'm paying for my non-turbo Z4

Or maybe the windscreen is an optional extra and the standard car just comes with a sheet of steel there?

I wouldn't put that past BMW at all. silly
More likely to just be a tissue that you can dry your eyes with after the reaming from the salesman. biggrin

I just specced one up and in white with not options you can get it for the list price, most of it on the options list is a load of old crap anyway, if you can get a discount, then this is a performance bargain up there with the original Impreza Turbo and makes Golf's look very expensive.
