Really horrible car IMO.
Rather have the new Corvette C7 - much more individual.
Yep, the Corvette C7 is a discrete, comfortable and excellent way of carrying three business clients and yourself to lunch. No flaws in using the Chevvy at all. I think a Biz Kart would make an excellent alternative too wink

Honestly - sorry to hate on Audi again but really..
+ 1

I didn't think I would ever be uninterested in a near 600bhp car. This is it though. It was almost inevitable that they'd make it though. That's the biggest problem I think, we all know the family face the next Audi will have - it's on the A3. Then there'll be an S version and eventually an RS version. Each a bit wider and some more chrome and grilles. It really does feel like a copy and paste job.

But it sells, so they will fill every niché they can.

Partly down to the god awful render. I suspect in the flesh it'll be much nicer - certainly looks it from other pictures.

I'm sorry but the front end treatment of Audi's is becoming silly almost a caricature of themselves.

It looks bloody awful, still they know their market.

Hate to appear to jump on the bandwagon but I find this just boring tripe.

Also, anyone noticed the 5300rpm redline? Is that just a 'shop error? Must be right...

Yes. That's it. People who can afford a £77k car all live in identikit houses and wear suits from Burtons rolleyes

Yes. That's it. People who sign the finance papers for £595 a month all live in identikit houses and wear suits from Burtons rolleyes
Fixed that for you

I like that, looks beastly, imo the A5 & the A7 are the best looking cars Audi make at the moment

Every time I see an A7 from the rear I think 'saggy arse/full nappy'!!
As per a previous post, it just does not look finished off properly, almost as if the body is to big for the wheel base.

I love performance cars but hate anything that really isn't a performance car. Whether it be a Mondeo, Vectra, Audi A4 TDi, BMW 320d or whatever it's just dull and uninspiring.

The RS range are very impressive (not as good as the classic when RS actually had a passion and was a collaboration with another top motorsport designer) and to me are performance cars so I love RS's but not Audi's just like I love M Cars and AMG cars.
It's possibly because I also hate AWD and think anyone who thinks a performance car needs AWD shouldn't be anywhere near high powered cars. But basically the RS is just a big engine stuffed into a criminally dull car. You're still never going to look back over your shoulder at it in a carpark. That's ok for a daily-driver that isn't being rammed down your throat by evangalists, but unfortunately Audi RSs do seem to attract a following of people who reckon themselves as car enthusiasts but are terrified of anything that needs any sort of ability to actually drive.

One of the reasons why I bought an RS4 over an M3 was precisely because it had AWD and wasn't tail happy and unpredictable. As Chris Harris rightly says in his excellent vid comparing the B5, B7 and B8 RS4s, the RS4 will keep you on the road long after the M3 has disappeared through a hedge. As for "criminally dull", I've had 3 BMWs which I never looked back at in the car park.

Just read your blog mate, some nice stories on there. Sounds like you have mixed emotions about the AMG!

Well I have the advantage of writing for fun so can be frank. The car's good, it's all the non-car stuff that's annoying. Maybe we are at a point in car evolution where manufacturers are learning how to make us buy cars for the technology inside the cabin not the engine and suspension systems. Audi are market leaders in this stuff.

That would mean reaching the limits of grip on a public road. Which lets face it, isn't achievable in the UK for a whole load of reasons. Chiefly among which, is the fact that our roads are far too busy for on the limit driving.

It'll be a great car for what it is intended for.

Not really an Audi fan tbh, but saw an S7 today cruise past on the motorway and have to say I thought it looked good (for the generic Audi look). That said, would never consider one, so many nicer cars for that price if I had that cash to spend

Sounds like Audi's slogan since about 2009.
