RE: PH Heroes: Nissan Skyline GT-R R34

'I love that, one of the best, most aggressive jap cars in my view. '
After 7 years of ownership I pleaded that dad didn't sell this car (UK Vspec). Of course, there was self interest as was buying a house, R32 was a bit broken and, basically, step mum had rumbled that I tended to ponce it pretty much most of the time.
That was 2 years ago and dad, now 67, says 'I wish I hadn't sold that GTR'.

impressive performance but sorry, never done it for me on the aesthetics front. Looks like a malaysian taxi after the kit club got their hands on it.
What a crappy statement, different does not mean inferior. For crying out loud if it wasn't for Eastern car design, however you view it, the world of cars would be a damn dull place.Had one of only a couple of uk spec yellow r34's a few years back, I bought it directly from the first owner. Great car but I never fully grew to love it....was never as polished as the 996 turbo which were similar money at the time.
Was totally reliable for the time I owned it however bar a clutch and turned more heads than anything I'd had before.

I'm surprised a certain mate of mine hasn't posted yet.. He's got a much loved blue R34. I think the 280bhp out of the box figure was somewhat conservative, to get through agreed limits.
Astonishing GT car but dare I say, just a little on the big and technical side for me.
R35?? Strewth that is huuuuge!!

Hate these threads. Every time I'm reminded how much I miss my R33 GTS (except for the interior). ![cry](/inc/images/cry.gif)
Another mate had an R33 GTS. To be honest, the interior seemed very similar to my S14a 200sx (no real shock of course). A bit Jap feeling but I thought it was well screwed together.![cry](/inc/images/cry.gif)

Jesus...I've never seen a R34 next to a GTR...that's comical!
I bought a R32 11 years ago and then my dad sent me out to buy a R34 after driving mine. The R34 was an absolute beast and I just loved it for the presence. For driving though...give me my old clunky R32 GTR ta
(still own it)

I grew up with all the Gran Turismos and it's always been about the R32 for me. I've always thought that the R33 is a bit bloated looking and the R34 slightly awkward. Each to their own though.
A good R34 is nearly 3 times the price of an R32 or 33 and I can't see it being 3 times the fun.
