I never have and never will understand the point of spending a lot of money to reproduce a sound stage in one of the worst acoustic environments to listen to music. Burmester make some sublime hi-fi equipment though.
yep with you on that one. Cabin noise at 70mph is around 65dB, compared to 40dB for a quiet room where you might listen to your hifi. That's 16x more noisy in the car. So it's the standard system for me. Also why load the car up with all the weight of the extra speakers and amps?

That new Cayman is very ugly.
Porsche 997 second hand for that price. Alfa Romeo 4C maybe new?

PH could perhaps make it clear to new members that their 1st 100 posts would be reviewed for value.

0-62mph in 4.7secs (with PDK), 175mph max - and it's capable of c. mid-30s mpg. Remarkable, just plain all-round remarkable.

Dark metallic blue with an all-black cabin, please cloud9

Anyone thinking of ordering an F-type V6 coupé? tumbleweed

I'm delighted someone else has commented on the sports exhaust - I found the 991 sounded painful. It's just a shrill noise that actually hurt my ears, and I'm in my 20s Chris! I like loud! But not fake rubbish loud.

I'm sure the rest of the car is very competent - but hopefully in a more exciting way than the 991. Excitement in a 40mph B road queue is what I want!

Its got to be this for a nice fun daily road car.

  • Regular Cayman
  • Aqua Blue Metallic
  • Full Leather Two Tone Crazy Amber Orange / Agate Grey
  • Bi-Xenons
  • Standard 18" Wheels (to be painted Agate Grey by your local wheel man)
  • Interior 'Light Design' Pack for a laff
  • PCM, Navi, Telephone Module
£47,000 that I ain't got. Or a Boxster in exactly the same spec for £44800.

I wonder how difficult it will be to source those 20" tyres with 'special sidewall construction' once you've gone through a few sets?? Porsche dealers only?

That is NOT by any stretch of the imagination a good looking car.

Now I do believe firmly in reserving judgement until seeing the car in the flesh. But I might have to make an exception in this case.

How on earth can looking more like a Panamerde be a good thing?! It's not as ugly as the panamerde of course but neither is rat vomit.

Totally turgid.

I've stated this before, I wouldn't put it as strongly as you though, I'd accuse it of just being VERY bland rather than out and out offensive. I know looks are VERY subjective but I really can't fathom how people can look at this car and call it beautiful??

Still it's probably the best reasonably priced sports car available at the moment and I'd be in one now if I could get as excited by how it looks standing still as much as I do about how it goes.
