Asians and Bentleys

The OP may well have been stereotyping, but don't forget that most stereotypes have more than a little basis in fact.
I suspect that most people who interact in any meaningful way with the indian/Pakistani/bangladeshi etc community (so as to not call them asians ) will observe that a noticeable proportion have a predeliction towards flashy things - there are a million possible socio-economic and cultural reasons for this, but let's not get into that right now! To deny it is to be completely blinkered. Therefore, to mention it is not racist, it is just making a comment based on a demonstrable observation.
To start picking holes in someone's use of the term asian is just cheap points scoring imo, if i was described as a brit online, i wouldn't put on my 'hurt and offended' hat and point out that i was an englishman as opposed to a scot, welsh or irish. to do so would be idiotic. i would accept that "we all look the same" and get on with the point actually being made as opposed to discussion stopping semantics.
In short, wind your neck in and grow up...
Name me any country in the world and I'll show you bling and a bentley. Russia, china, Zimbabwe, UK, USA, Japan, anywhere you like and it exists. demonstrable observation? inductive reasoning I suspect that most people who interact in any meaningful way with the indian/Pakistani/bangladeshi etc community (so as to not call them asians ) will observe that a noticeable proportion have a predeliction towards flashy things - there are a million possible socio-economic and cultural reasons for this, but let's not get into that right now! and Brit is hardly the same, take a stereotype of another small section of say 'westerner' which even if accurate in your mind related only to that section and lump you in
I agree the bling element isn't specific to Asians.
The whole race card really peeves me off especially as it is usually meant as a descriptive term rather than a derogatory one.
Certain words such as and I can understand as they were used as such. However Asian, black etc is purely the same as white, Scottish, ginger, fat etc.
The race issue has swung so far that most of the time it is racist towards white people - ever heard of the White Music Awards? If there was one there would be hell to pay in the media.
People bang on about equality but it works both ways.
Anyway, rant over from a white pomme infidel
(BTW I have black friends and mixed race friends that find it quite funny especially when people are worried how to describe them. In there words "I'm black" so call me it)

Erm, Riiight. If i was resident in bangalore and someone described me (in a restaurant full of locals) as the westerner in the corner - i would take no offence. What is your point? As mentioned earlier, physical appearance is a descriptor, not an automatic insult. I think some people need to just stop looking for offence.and Brit is hardly the same, take a stereotype of another small section of say 'westerner' which even if accurate in your mind related only to that section and lump you in

Have you actually read the thread??
It has nothing to do with Bentleys as in cars
I know it's about logo design isn't it? But someone was talking about 'bling' being something that seemed fairly specific to Asians, when its not.It has nothing to do with Bentleys as in cars
Nothing more, nothing less!!!!

Yes you're right - my apologies.
Of course Asian is not an all encompassing term - in fact your sample size of 3-10 customers is hugely representative of the Asain population.
I don't know why I thought you were generalising - in fact of the 123m Japanese, 1.3bn Chinese and 1bn odd Indians, plus other countless countries with "asians" - your 3-10 customers should allow you to draw firm conclusions.
PS Watch out, you left your brush on the floor...

Could the OP clarify. When he says Asians does he mean Indians, Pakistanis, Chinese, Japansese etc?
