RE: VW Golf GTI 25th Anniversary: PH Carpool
Discussion
I bought a 1.8T Anniversary new back in 2002. It was the only new car I've owned (and probably ever will!). I loved it though. Coming from an E36 BMW 316i, it felt like a rocket ship and I think it looked and drove quite a lot better than a standard MK4 GTI. Only issues I had were failing coil packs and wheel corrosion (replaced under warranty).
I sold it to someone fairly local to me (after three years and 40,000 odd miles) and think he put his personal plate on it. If I had the cash and saw it come up for sale in an unruined state, I would buy it back in a heartbeat. (It was number 121 if anyone knows of its whereabouts!)

Well it's taken me a while but here I am! OP/owner/seller whatever you lot wish to call me.
Anyway straight to business:
1: it's a golf, it's function by design is to be DISTINCTLY AVERAGE at everything. It's a family hatchback with an extra 30bhp. If you like your Martini shaken then nip over to the supercar forums, you may feel more at home there.
2: it reads like it's for sale because (brace yourself) it's for sale. Buy it?
3: we did hack around in a 2.0 8v but I also had a GT86, does this qualify me for PH worthiness?
4: I'm glad there are still lots of golf followers out there, they aren't great but they're good fun.
Seriously though, thanks for all your comments regardless of what you've said, it's just nice to read peoples opinions etc.
BTW FYI it's for sale. PM me
