I think 15 months is the legal cut-off at the moment.
Sounds about right. Group 1 onwards then? I didn't pay too much attention as our nippers only 6 months old so we're still in a Group 0+ seat. Although he's 6 months and 1 week old and already comfortably in his 9-12 month clothes, I'm worried he'll grow out of his car seat before long!Edited by TheAllSeeingPie on Saturday 11th July 18:00
8.5kg and can just about sit up if he's paying attention. He's probably about 2cm from the top of his BeSafe izi go X1 so maybe can grow a little before a swap. Thinking about their izi plus which is 0-25kg and gets loads of high ratings in the German mags, because they test crashes at motorway speeds and not 30mph head on. Euro regs don't even check for side impacts :/

You'd be amazed how small a large car like an A6 can feel once you're karting around all the baby stuff too
try squeezing twins into a smaller car like a legacy, I couldnt drive our car for a year because the rear facing seats meant the front seats were as far forward as they could go. Luckily my wife is 5 foot nothing. As much as the 'think of the children' brigade will moan, as soon as they were big enough mine were changed to front facing. You need to plan ahead too with car seats, our Dione ones will last the kids until theyre about 7 iirc.
So, the wife went shopping for pushchairs today. In Mothercare, she canvassed a couple of parents who both had a Cosatto Giggle 2 system. Both sets of parents really rated the Giggle 2, so we found a cheaper one (for some reason the fabric design is a big factor in the price...) and we got the cheapest one.

Have to buy an ISOfix adapter, but it will be the one with the extra foot in front.

Your group-0 seat is tiny then, our daughter is about 80cm and still has loads of growing room in our Maxi Cosi Cabriofix. Are you sure there isn't padding designed to removed as the baby grows to make more space? It's perhaps worth pointing out that that "five times safer" thing was comparing a rear facing seat to a front facing one which wouldn't even be legal in the UK. There's no denying that rear facing seats are fundamentally safer in a frontal collision, but that particular statistic is complete rubbish.

Now being the doting grndparent the V70 now has two seats in it. first was an Isofix and i got the Volvo kit to attach it. Also, and all raise your hands in horror, it was a 2nd Hand maxicosi off ebay, BUT before it was used the final say was from my son, who ok'ed it 100% and by christ did he give it a good look over. For the 2nd one, we are using his strap on seat and both take up all the back seat! No. 1 is now approaching three so will have to start lookin for the next size up and when that happens will get anothr fixing kit and have both isofix

Taken all the padding out and adjusted the shoulder straps and he's definitely nearly out of it. There's about 2cm of headroom left and since he's growing at a fast rate that's not long left. Also since the shoulder straps are at max height even if his head isn't at the top he's too big for the seat according to the instruction manual.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
