Haha no worries.Did you even have the e sockets? I certainly wasn't carrying Esockets when I started out diying
I was at a DIY garage, the guy that runs it uses it as a working garage so I can use anything he has (which is a lot of stuff!)
Well done for trying.
I know the feeling of dread and anger when you start to realise the job you've started and gone too far on, is going to be a pig or something that you don't know where you are going wrong. I've learnt all myself over the years with help from YouTube and forums. My best advice is have a proper read through and if it says you need a proper tool, get the proper tool, I've had to fabricate a few things with a piece of old mountain bike and an angle grinder!
The guides on the internet usually have comments that say "good write up it only took 20mins" it never takes only 20 mins, you'll get stuck on a bolt that you can't reach or get your hand in to.
I've changed quite a lot on my cars but a couple of years ago I got stuck for ages on a headlight bulb, I just could not work how to unplug the cable without snapping the tab, took freaking ages but then it was suddenly obvious,
Keep at it but set aside a day. I don't think I'd go to a ramp as I never have all the tools I think I need at the start and spend half the time hunting in the shed and garage. In fact that's the worst bit
