270bhp 308GTi for me. I prefer understated in hot hatches. MK1 Focus RS pulled this trick off with flair. Nice colour, purposeful looks. For me I've no need of a top speed over 130-140.
I was between the Focus and the 308. I haven't driven either yet though I've ordered the Focus. The 308 looks nicer inside and out, I must say.
Unless these are offered on cheap lease deals, i not sure we will see many around like the Golf R. I love the way people pretends a 30k is an affordable alternative to a 40k car. I'd honestly wonder what planet people are on when they think it offer value for money. I guess those buying must be hoping they hold there value like the Mark II has, in which case if they do i guess they will be laughing..

Interestingly the Forester also cost about the same as this new Focus RS when it was new 10 years ago (they were about £28,100). Perhaps one of the accounting bods on here can work out what that would be in todays money taking inflation into account so we can see what sort of performance the equivalent spend could now get.
Only when the greedy importers brought them in. Were roughly around 18,500 to buy in Japan. 3million yenRamboLambo said:
I think the mark II RS is about to become a classic now
Was at Focus direct having mine serviced and they had low mileage cars close to what I paid for mine new 6 years ago so on holding value they do look a wise investment or maybe maybe 25 grand escort mexico's and 40 gran Cossie's make them look good value. Jimmy Recard said:
'Pay the monies'
You may note (as I've written on this thread) that after deliberation I paid 'the monies' for the Focus RS. But I did think a lot about it first.
Parrot for you. I'm not sure you have comprehended what my comment was regarding. You may note (as I've written on this thread) that after deliberation I paid 'the monies' for the Focus RS. But I did think a lot about it first.
I was talking about the 3 people that expressed a liking for the Peugeot alternative yet nobody in the World seems to have bought one. Over 2k people have already bought the Focus.

I was one of the three, I believe.I was talking about the 3 people that expressed a liking for the Peugeot alternative yet nobody in the World seems to have bought one. Over 2k people have already bought the Focus.
I came very, very, very close to buying the Peugeot. So clearly I was willing to and had the money.
Indeed, if the Peugeot dealer hadn't been a bit useless I think I would have actually bought it instead. That's what swung it in the end.

Fingers crossed they start depreciating like a stone so I can get my hands on one! Unlimited numbers means it's more likely than the Mk2 RS which have held very very well.
If that's your plan you might be on to a loser as Ford UK MD reckons they haven't got any extra slots to build more than 4000-4500 RHD unitshttp://www.motoringresearch.com/car-news/uk-remain...
“Without the UK, Ford wouldn’t have produced the Focus RS. We’re the dominant market for it – it was Britain that took two-thirds of volumes for the old five-cylinder RS, so it was much easier to make a business case for it.”
Barratt expects to sell around 4,000-4,500 new Focus RS in Britain during the car’s lifetime, and says it will be very hard to secure extra units for the UK, such is the expected global demand for the car. “We’re almost at daily production capacity already, and that’s before anyone’s seen or sat in a production-spec car.”
