My three brisk estates thus far....

I think fast estates are cool, and the faster the cooler IMHO.

I'm glad you mostly agree! They do look better to their saloon counterparts. All my mid twenties friends are buying them. One has a great s4 estate, another a top spec v70 and another has a 320d touring.

Love them

I'm looking at the 2016 facelift saloon, however that looks delicious. How's it on the motorway?!

LOL. I'd struggle to 'burn my 320d off at the lights' or 'drift it on roundabouts' even if it had a remap, modded pipes, chavved glass, patinated bonnet and stanced rims...

Ugh ! Estate is such a 90's term, can we leave it in the 90's. wink

Touring, I said touring laugh
Has this one for over 6 years now, turns 10 years old at the end of the year, no plans to change it. Used to do a lot of carrying camping equipment duty, now it has mucky mountain bikes put in or on it.

But that is an estate car. BMW call it a Touring for marketing reasons because it sounds a bit more "life style"

Only in England, most other places call them station wagons and would think 'estate car' is pretentious marketing talk. wink

Estates are cool, especially fast ones.

I have a 330 touring and i love it. Didn't even consider a saloon or ci as they look old man and posery respectively imo.

>Must have roof rails though smile.

I owned two of the rarest Vauxhall's a while ago....only 34 2.6 GSi estates were built!!

I then moved onto this beasty...lovely 4.2 V8 under the bonnet..

and now I'm old and boring I trundle about in this boring (reliable and cheap to run) thing...

All of them have been cool but some were much cooler than others..... Audi 100 Avant, Audi A4 Avant, Volvo V70, BMW E30 320i Touring, BMW 540i Sport Touring, Audi Allroad 2.7 Biturbo, then a series of company motors including a Volvo XC70 D5 SE Lux.
The current car is a long termer and is an Ex Armed Response V70 T5 which continues to delight and surprise when pressing on, particularly so this week as I've had the brakes renewed and the geometry set up. At 185k it feels like new.

To me... the 3 series is about as appealing as a bout of VD... But a 330D Touring in red... yep, I would have that.

I absolutely despise vectras but always thought the GSi wagon/estate/touring was a very good looking car.

I do like an estate. I had an Impreza wrx wagon and loved it!
