Yes! The only real choice and my immediate thought when reading the OP, couldn't believe it took 3 pages to be added.Piersman2 said:

Just lacks and sort of 'wow' factor for me. I can't imagine popping out to the garage just to have a look at it for example.
True enough I suppose, especially when compared to that Citreon SM pictured above, but then the Citroen SM isn't really in the true spirit of this thread. I think a 1.9 on OEM wheels still has presence. When I got one, it had been around 15 years in the making and I still had to go out and look at it sometimes just to reassure myself that I owned one!
By it's very nature, a hatchback with it's short wheelbase and truncated rear probably isn't going to have much of a "wow" factor but it doesn't mean that it can't be a good, pure design and/or good looking. That Citroen SM is gorgeous but it's not really a hatchback in the truest sense of the word.

Have to agree with this. Looks mean and has a great NA V6 to boot.
Although a bit bias, I'd be inclined to include the MK4 R32 with this, similar enough to the original but with a flair that makes it a tad more interesting
Really? The front lower grilles look like cheap aftermarket. The rest looks fine.Although a bit bias, I'd be inclined to include the MK4 R32 with this, similar enough to the original but with a flair that makes it a tad more interesting
So a normal GTI in that shape looks far better to me.
The Anniversary looks a lot better than the bland GTI.
