I just can't get excited about the Continental GT. Is there something wrong with me?

I can't get excited about any Bentley. They just do not appeal to me at all. I can understand why other people might but i'm just not a fan whatsoever.

Nothing worthy of a ban anyway.

What a brute. Lovely.

Gunmetal over quilted oxblood leather for me and with a ready supply of proles ready and willing to throw themselves under the wheels to fill potholes during high speed runs!

That's utterly fabulous, but I'd need a rear wing delete option to tick.

So you don't get all snagged up when you plough through a crowd of plebeians? biggrin
Wouldn't want to give them anything to hold on to!

Might be an age thing, I am 46,when younger I didnt get the fuss about Mercedes, then for ages, wasnt fussed about Astons but seem to be getting more interested as the years go by, not that one is an option.

Not my thing at all. Too big, too heavy and too 'look at me'. I am probably a bit boring and have envy issues. Just as well that we are all different, interesting to have them around.

What an absolutely grotesque, hideously ostentatious slab of bling.

Whilst I'm sure they could get the 4.0V8 to 710hp it probably wouldn't have the same torque and power profile that the 6.0 W12 gives.

Will be a prestige thing as well I guess.

Yep, in a car like this you'd be nuts to want a turbo V8 over that glorious W12 engine. TI exhaust on mine please.

the audi s8 can be remapped to 710 bhp and 650 pounds so slightly less but a lighter engine which is my point, but at the end of the day it isn't a true sports car so the w12 will always be used, and the v8 is seen as the pauper version.

the w12 is 197 kilo, the v8 about 100 kilos so pretty big.

a racing company stripped all the crap out a w12 and ended up at a 1300 kilo weight. add a few 100 kilos and you woulkd have a proper racing car for the road, call it the blower.

Epic car. Like a posh hooligan.

Watch the old Top Gear episode, where a BCS absolutely smashes a Ferrari FF round an ice circuit in Scandinavia.

Nope, I think they are ugly as st, very dated these days as they just keep facelifting it, and it really is a bit council, just no real redeeming features of them, in my opinion

Is this not Pistonheads? We should be embracing 700hp W12 monsters surely, just for the engineering if nothing else regardless of whether you can afford it or would be seen driving it? Clearly there are a lot of people on this thread with big chips on their shoulders. Sad really.

The Continental has been reworked and refined over the years and whilst is a relatively common sight is in my opinion the most useable 4 seater all weather super car on the market (bar Panamera Turbo), that's why it's so popular. It's not a toy that has to be pampered like say a Ferrari or Aston, it can be used as a daily drive in the same way as you could a mondeo.

For info even the base V8 can easily be modded to 700hp with a map, god know what the tuners could do with this......Awesome bit of kit.

Bentley don't appear on high-profile races on mainstream TV at the weekend, so it will never quite get full man-points...
