Seems to a lot of hate from people who haven't seen one in person, whilst pretty much all the commenters who have actually seen one like it. I have had a good look round one in real life and think it looks fantastic.
I have seen one, thought it looked pretty horrid in red. Odd angles and a squinty front end.Surprised it sits so high even with 30mm lowering.

Yep I've seen one in the metal close up also and stand by my disapproval. It's not "hate" (why would I hate a sports car?) I just think it's awkward looking. MarshPhantom said:
Always thought targa tops were the last word in cheesy. More look at me
I get that. Roofless Porsches always look a bit pathetic to me, and roofless Ferraris and Lambos are for young punks or middle aged men...both with too much gold jewellery and too white teeth. But I liked the RF in coupe configuration and the droptop was a bonus. Deerfoot said:
The rear of the Fiat looks too `heavy` IMHO, the Mazda looks a lot lighter from the doors back. To be honest though I`d be quite happy in either.
It's nice being able to choose between both. They are surprisingly different cars to drive though. Very different control weights (everything on the Abarth is heavier...clutch, steering, gearshift). Powertrain delivers in a completely different way (linear on the MX5 and all about stonking mid-range on the Abarth). And the chassis setup is soft and pliant on the MX5 (and it takes time to learn to trust it and realise that it has way more grip than you think), and taught and buttoned down on the Abarth (which you can jump into and punt quickly from the get-go). The MX5 rewards being precise and measured, the Abarth you can be thuggish with. As I said, considering their common origins, the driving experience is very different.RBH58 said:
