According to Sportauto the standard Huracan did the lap in 7:28, meaning that the Performante saved 36 seconds. That is an enormous difference.

Actually, having checked it seems the 918 didn't get under 7 minutes when tested independently

great lap if it was a lap ;-) ie that was NOT A FULL LAP !!!
even though add 3seconds and it still beats every thing, daft mistake to not have made it a full lap though.
it's a 6.55 lap !!!
Wrong. All Sport Auto and Industry lap times are measured from T13 pitlane exit, to the first white line at the start of T13 straight.even though add 3seconds and it still beats every thing, daft mistake to not have made it a full lap though.
it's a 6.55 lap !!!

Two posters in particular seem to get very emotional about their respective brands...
Seriously I'm not into brands, it's all about the individual car for me be it Macca Porsche Fezza Lambo etc, just so happens the Perfa has won me over at the mo! Nothing against the others at all!I've even just bought another EVO

Everyone knows you can't even fit hand luggage in a Huracan let alone go on holiday.
Track "optimised" car with full race team in attendance but a great time and even better stunt and bit of PR work.
Well done Lambo
Optimised car or not all manufacturers (fer, mac etc) are surely playing the same game when it comes to the cars/setup they use for posting these laps. I would guess times are pretty much comparable albeit the standard cars available to purchase may or may not have the exact same performance but the difference would be relative...Track "optimised" car with full race team in attendance but a great time and even better stunt and bit of PR work.

Really do have to praise Lamborghini for sticking to N/A screamers. They simply sound amazing.
Indeed. How come other supercar manufacturers aren't doing the same?A group like VW who own many brands have the advantage that the "average" emissions generated by the whole group is not overly affected by producing a few thousand V12's (Lamborghini) when the majority of their engines are 4 cylinder turbo charged units (Audi, VW Skoda etc)
Where as someone like Mclaren would find it very difficult to meet emissions targets if they didn't turbocharge/hybridise their engines.

Awesome lap, although surpsied Lamborgini have allowed their hal product (Aventador SV) to be superceded by the Huracan! Perhaps this makes way for the Aventador SSSV

I know you said its an enormous difference, but do you honestly believe that you can reduce your laptime in the same car by 36 secs only by shaving 50 kgs and with and added 50 horsepower more? I certainly don't. Oh ok they have this "magic" aero that nobody else knows about but Lambo. Right pull the other one I think. To be fair, that's comparing the Sport Auto lap (albeit by a very very good amateur who's pretty much a semi pro driver) vs a factory pro driver. Even if one was generous and took a full 10s off the SA Huracan lap (already on trofeos) for a factory driver, 6:52 to 7:18 would be an absolutely enormous jump. All due to this magical 'active aero' of course (and nevermind how the suspension etc copes) ....

the difference between an all out effort, qualifying style vs a casual fast lap but a decent amateur is 15-20seconds on the ring.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
