Timely thread...
Picked up my 6 month old Focus ST from it's first service this morning.
It was also having a minor repair to the front bumper from a non-fault accident 3 weeks ago (Landcruiser backed into me at 0.00004 km/h)
Car was immaculate other than that, no mean feat out here after 6 months.
Got to the office, out of the car, noticed this on the passenger side door
One thing you don't expect to happen when you leave your car at the main dealer bodyshop is for it to come back in a worse state.
Cue a very angry phone call and a trip back down to said bodyshop.

sometimes it would be nice to not like cars and be happy driving a POS!
I was thinking of this the other day - I will be 50 in December, so about another 7500 days to live if all goes well. How much time do I waste worrying about crap like getting my doors dinged. Maybe I should just buy an old banger and enjoy sitting in the garden instead?

Mine's not lifted but it's still high enough
Defenders/110/90s also have very short and narrow doors so getting in or out with limited space is easy. That said the kids prefer to hop over the back seats and walk out of the back door
Winch bumpers also seem to cause serious concentration when others are manoeuvring nearby.
I regularly park up and come back to find a rammed carpark with an empty space either side of my 110
That said the icicles on the inside during winter aren't great when they thaw out enough to fall off and drop down the back of your neck
Local lad has very lifted hilux with an bobtail bed and external roll cage, real interesting looking bit of kit. I was working in the local supermarket about 2 years ago when there was an incident in the car park, woman parked an astra next to it and her 5-7 year old opened the back door into the side rail with force. It looked like the window just shattered, peppering the 2 kids with glass put a very slight bend in the window frame. Woman tried to aggressively blame the hilux owner, who was in the store shopping at the time, for traumatising her kids, police had to be called to remove her from the premises. Probably one of the funniest experiences I had working in that dreadful place . Happy I was doing paperwork at the front desk that day.
Man I would kill for a Defender 90 . The used prices have just gone absolutely nuts in recent years, well out of my price range for a usable one.
