Agreed. I wonder who fit them with such little mileage?

£69k overpriced for me lol!
literally, that is two beautiful step front Alfas, one for trackdays and fun, plus one in the garage as investment material.

£69k for a 5k minter is probably not mental though in the current climate, i just couldnt bring myself to do it, no love whatsoever.

If ever there was a head vs heart question, this is it.

Head: Focus RS
Heart: Cosworth

Are they just a surround you could easily remove?

They'll be Morrettes ,not sure if they improve the light output over the weak originals.

I still go weak at the knees when i see one and moonstone is the best colour, its a reaction from when I was 13 or 14 I cant help, its burnt in now, even though I know it would be a huge sum of money and probably a bit rubbish compared to whatever else I could buy .
Same here with regards to both the Sierra and the Escort Cosworths, less so the Saph. If you grew up drooling over these when car shows like Doncaster were in their heyday than it's had not to spend the rest of your life lusting after one. I still get a twinge of excitement when I see one on the road. Can't say the same for any of Ford's recent RS offerings. Nevertheless, maybe the youth of today will be getting all hot under the collar about the mk3 focus RS in 20 years time, who knows?!
No you tube back then, so you had to go to a show/ Santa pod to see in the flesh. Don't forget these cars were mega money back then, inflation adjusted. Twenty odd grand, when a three bed house was £40k, so not many car enthusiasts could afford, never mind the insurance.

I had this a company car from 1993 to 1995 during which time I did 40,000 miles plus. It had the big turbo and it was chipped to give around 300 bhp Wonderful car in all respects.

The RS Cossie still looks fantastic

There was a guy locally with one, it even upstaged (with us kids) the 911 Turbo across the road, though the 911 Turbo didnt feel disappointing, that felt every bit as mental as I expected, I drove a colleagues Sapphire, it was standard and not slow but not the rocketship I was expecting, Sapphires never had the same mystique as the three door, I did go in a mates brothers messed with one once though, that had the bean can exhaust and obligatory Ahmed Whatsit chip etc, it seemed to burn as much oil as petrol, but that was properly quick, until it met its end one rainy night in Congleton.

As per the quote below, they're Morette headlights. They were a popular modification in the '90's on a lot of different cars and some Ford RS dealers back in the day offered them as an optional extra as they were fitted to some later versions of the Escort WRC car.

They're definitely better than the standard lights. I've still got a set on my 205 GTI and also have a set on my MK1 Focus RS the light output with them is much improved over the standard units (even with "normal" bulbs).

I'm currently looking for an Alfa 105 step front like this, £35k is doable. Now tell me which looks better, cossie, RS or this?
Every budget these days has lots of exciting potential if you are after something to hold its value or even go up perhaps!
This is a really beautiful car and I would love to own it , and your right it's probably better looking than the cosworths , but the problem is cars need to be seen to be lusted over and during the time I grew up 80/90's the Cosworth was the performance bargain to own and therefore plenty on the road and much more chance to own than the Alfa , the point is people of a certain age will always love the cossie , a car that hit a proper chord with my generation of car lovers , or boy racers as my step dad used to say . I think ford got it dead right with the Cosworth engine ,design of the body with big spoilers , I even loved the interior . Long live the Cosworth great great cars .

I'd have a MK1 Focus RS. It's the best car I've ever driven for B road blasting. The front end grip was obscene, and the back end was playful. Kind of a 172/182 Cup on steroids and independent rear suspension.

The MK1 FRS is a feasible everyday driver, the Cosworth isn't, MK3 doesn't do it for me and the MK2 FRS is overpriced at current market values.

The headlights are not chavvy , you've got that wrong , very popular at the time for the WRC look they were needed , I think both look good , here are some examples

It's 50/50. They're a "correct", rally-derived modification that should give better lighting, so that's good.

But chavvy Max Power readers did indeed fit them to fking everything, so that's bad.

The stick-on lookalike versions are just sad, though.
