That's a bit unfair. He thought it was a Fiesta until someone pointed out it was a Jag. drunk

To put the situation another way, if it is first come first served as you say would you be put out of someone was parked in the spot where your Jag is and another where you van is leaving you no where to park? What the rules are and what is courteous could be different things.

Six properties and six parking spaces to me would indicate that each household gets a space. That's the fair, well mannered way of dealing with it. I suppose, in the same way no one owns the space on the road outside their house but generally everyone on a street is likely to park outside their own place and everyone on the street appreciates it - whether it works that way all the time or not.

If it were me, I'd park my van somewhere else, it's a company vehicles so no need to be hugely precious about it compared to your own car.

I notice there are driveways in front of the houses, I assume your home does not have one then?

I only bring this up because I am wondering if one of those two neighbors complaining have a driveway in front of their home, and if so are they then counting the other spot to park across the street as an extra for them?
One of the house does has a driveway and the other house doesn't but has no vehicles apart from the odd visit by there family which has had no problem parking and other visits by lads on mopeds visting for less 2mins dropping drugs off.
So, build a driveway, with a turn space, and park the van outside your living room window.

I'd move that unreliable piece of s**t out of the way round the corner to park and leave the Vivaro with your ladders and tools where it is.

Falling out with your neighbours is a very slippery slope and just isn't worth the hassle imo. Things can escalate very quickly into a very unpleasant tit for tat battle. Don't forget, if you own the home then any neighbour disputes have to be declared to any potential buyers if/when you decide to sell.

If the van is insured and you can not be held responsible for any theft of tools, then just park the van around the corner in the 20 spaces you mentioned.

Discretion is the better part of valour.

You’ll unlikely ‘own’ a space, but have ‘use’ of one which is tied to the property.

You need to live there so upsetting neighbours is the last thing you want, regardless of rights and wrongs sometimes.

Park the Transit else where, it’s just a work van.
Find a bay that says ‘Vivaro Parking Only’. That’ll really upset someone!!

Oh wait...

The complaining neighbor "been moved by the council" probably contains your answer. Was this person moved by the council for being a pain in the arse at their previous address for complaining about parking and causing trouble etc. Council moves this person and lo and behold, they start causing trouble at their new address.

Answer seems obvious to me; they are having regular drugs deliveries and you have a van. Re-purpose the Tranvaro to be a kebab van during the evening, you will be quids in and your stoned neighbours will be grateful for the reduced walking distance (compared to the all-night petrol station) to get their munch, everyone is a winner.

Good idea, you could go one further and get the council to make one of these special spaces:

Or see if Banksy has a spare tranny you could dump on the grass:

That is a tranny isn’t it?

I saw an Openreach Vivaro when heading home this evening, had a right chuckle to myself.

I even thought about it and laughed to myself about it in a meeting today.

I would love the OP to take a close up picture of the vivarnit, failing that, at least discuss the elephant in the room, or in the neighbours parking space.

I am inclined the the logical view that if there are 6 properties and 6 bays then it's a bay each.
Vans also tend to be frowned upon but I wouldn't be telling the world you keep all your tools in it...

As for a neighbour using two bays, this may be with the agreement of another neighbour with a moral right to said bay.
Personally, I would take one bay but, if I agreed with a neighbour to use "their" space then I would consider that alright.
Maybe you can bribe the non-user to allow you to "rent" their space for a nominal few pints.

In fairness, I'm sure that's a Transit parked further up the road in someone's driveway
