You can, but only if you intend to plan where you drive it very carefully. I want a road car that can broadly speaking go anywhere. I take my cars for continental trips quite regularly. You don't always know what the hotel car park will be like, or if you have to negotiate a town. Bit like the Top Gear trip where the Zonda (I think it was) struggled to get out of the Paris car park. OK it was done for effect, but this thing looks even more extreme and uncompromising. I'm not suggesting it isn't a great car, and that engine is a work of art. But as a road car it looks like it would be a complete pain to drive.
yeah i agree. can't even get the weekly aldi shop in boot either!

Big fan of this, by the figures for torque given it’ll need its neck wringing to get the performance out of it which will make it great around a track, not so much as a daily drive.
er, that's what the 'lecy motor is there for!!! The motor will, at a guess, be making around 220Nm almost from zero revs, and given this car isn't very heavy, that's a decent amount of low speed torque, even with the ICE switched off......

This is not an attractive car at all and has none of the hallmarks of Aston with supposed power that you'd never use. Even with pockets full of cash I'd never buy this kind of car.

Best angle is from the top, other than that, it's no looker.

Suppose as they'll never get driven, the rich owner car nail it to the wall. Get to see it at it's best each time.
You can always following Mr_JWW as he's bought one - specced it and is posting all updates to his Tubes - I expect to see some use of it, he generally does use his cars

I agree on the lack of a "look" - it's a wing with lights on it. If you watch the various videos that were done on the "customer experience" (see any channel - although again, Mr_JWW was speccing a REAL one) you can improve it with some graphics/colors etc.

The fact you can spec a 'track pack' which gives you a completely different set of panels/wheels and the service required to switch all that means they do intend this for road use tho and - erm - it seems a little compromised for that to me...

The challenge of making a 2 seater 1167hp car something which works on a road but probably greater than making a track one tho...

This is what Uk companies should be making. Total opposite of anything from Woking and so so so much better for it
+1, and if one were to drop the fancy KERS stuff it could probably be made for ordinary supercar money even with that state of the art V12.

In a world where mainstream peak power is produced around 5500rpm and even NA monsters like the F12 Superfast and Lamborghini SVJ redline at 8500, this engine is incredible.

ELEVEN THOUSAND RPM !
My Street Triple redlines at 13,000rpm and that’s nothing compared to some of the Japanese Supersport bikes, such as a Kawasaki Ninja ZX6r which hits 16,000rpm!

I say Aston Martin need to try harder ;-)

But it's not 6.5 litres is it.

I prefer the pictures from this angle which emphasise the streamline and lightness engineering involved.

Stunning, zero compromise supercar for the track that can be used on the road, and fitted with a proper screaming v12 engine, fantastic!!

Like that’s a bad thing. If they had the Merc engine I’m pretty sure they would be winning.

The ones involved helped design Sebs 4 world championship winning cars. Not much to laugh about.

Congrats to Aston - an example of what's achievable with the right leadership.

I knew I shouldn't have gone ex directory - maybe then I would have received the calls from National Lottery and Aston Martin respectively announcing my win and asking me if I wanted one of these - to which my answers would have been Thanks - and Yes Please !
Don’t forget numerous ex Red Bull Racing staff that have helped design this car too. That’s a nice thing to know.
Good point well made!
Some don’t share your enthusiasm biggrin

@ Mr Tidy - There is a reason Toto / AMG Petronas won't supply RedBull with Powertrains - can you guess what it is...?

Quite something when a car makes a Vantage look like an SUV.

I've been waiting for someone to design a properly hyper-lightweight supercar.

To put it in perspective, this has a 6.5L V12 *and* is a hybrid with all the gubbins that entails and yet it weighs less than a Lotus Exige. It is 600kg lighter than a new Honda NSX (or the same as an entire Ariel Atom) with more than twice the horsepower.

Anyone who thinks this all looks a bit "meh" is clearly dead inside.

I totally agree thumbup

Seeing it in the flesh, it's the first thing that hits you: how impossibly low it seems. The top of the car is about the bonnet level of the car next to it.
