Thoroughly enjoyed that. Great video. I keep getting that I really want one feeling. Do you get the 3.8 or go for the much more expensive 4 litre. If you buy the 4 litre would I then be worried about using it and hurting its value. One question for those that know. Can you get a big guy in the passenger bucket seat. 6'4" 25 stone. Not fat just a big guy. His dream is a lap of Spa and at some point I want to make that happen for him.
I'm 6ft 2 and the same weight, and I fit in the bucket.Would like to spend too long in there but 30mins is ok. I have comfort seats in my gt3 for this reason

I recently read that an R Grupper with a 300 brake / 1.000 kgs outlaw kept on pace at a trackday packed with modern GT3... I must say the less weight a car carries the more fun and invovlement. But that's just me.
Power to weight ratio would be very similar;1,400 kgs / 1,000 kgs = 1.4
1.4 x 300 hp = 420 hp
Different cars, different dynamics, different delivery, but no doubt they should be similar pace. Light cars are generally more fun, yes, but as a package, IMHO Porsche created something very special with the GT3.

Different driver. Always find it amusing when people talk about something being quicker on a track day - as if everything but the car is a constant. 1,400 kgs / 1,000 kgs = 1.4

How true, good point. Hence my golden rule of getting out of the way of cars that appear in my mirrors on a track day; it doesn't matter what the car is, you never know who's driving it!Terminator X said:
he shouldn't, values have softened - iirc the highest a rhd example sold for was £600-650kAlpinestars said:

Yep, things starting sliding when they started making manual 911 GT3s again.
Not a lot to do with that. Prices have softened for most cars. I would certainly buy a 997 over a 991 and keep looking at them. Just would rather have a manual Ferrari track day/weekend car .... choice is great, a car for everybody’s taste
Awesome car. sacrilegious to some, but to me one of these with rear seats would be the perfect weekend car to upgrade from my normal 'boring' 997!
Without space for the kids its hard to find time to drive (i.e dropping them off at a mates house and enjoying the drive back!)
Also, I didn't realise that 997.2 GT3's came with the rare 'sheep disappearing button' option either (at 5:41). If Porsche are reading, can we have a similar version for Sunday drivers and caravanists please?

I think the rear seat conversion might be an insurance issue as the car is not type- insured for passengers in the back.Without space for the kids its hard to find time to drive (i.e dropping them off at a mates house and enjoying the drive back!)

Could someone please advise me, I am looking for a 997 Gen 2 and the car will be my pride and joy and only come out on dry days, I will never track the car just clean it and know that I have one, sounds mad i know but always wanted one. Would you go the extra mile and purchase the 997 gt3 RS or hold back a little and get the 997 gt3 . Out of the 2 what would be the best investment ?
