I'm starting to think that this is a throwaway comment these days.

In my world, that would mean:
a) It's factory standard and unmodified, and;
b) It hasn't been molested

Either that, or there's a factory 'Katie Price' trim... (although that still wouldn't cover the second point)...

I’d hate to see one of the owners cars if they actually melested one.

Not sure why anyone would want to include the word molested when trying to sell anything.
I would have thought origonal would be a much better choice of words

One that stood out for me, years ago on a Ford RS forum, was a seller marketing his car on eBay exclaiming how his car was a completely factory standard example and totally unmodified.

Unfortunately, he'd forgotten about all the threads / posts he'd made that were easily found when you Googled the reg plate. Any potential buyer doing that would have quickly discovered that the car may indeed have been "standard" at the time he was selling it, but it certainly wasn't previously as the car had been modified very heavily and tuned to 400+ bhp before he'd stripped all the mods off prior to selling. He'd also forgotten about the thread where he'd blown the engine up running too much boost and asking for advice / direction on who was best to rebuild the engine laugh

Just seen this on a Cayenne ad:

I might be due a parrot here, but what’s a “rear down drafter”?

I assume it's some sort of rear splitter that's been crafted from a kitchen hob extractor

Super rare, exclusive 5 speed manual...

Late 90s Jaguar XJ, also describes as fully loaded, cloth seats.

There is one currently for sale on autotrader, but then have only gone with ‘rare’.

"Fully loaded" is another on the modern cliche bingo - I see it all the time on ads for cars that are mid-spec.

It comes with fully loaded air in the tyres, fully loaded water in the screen wash and full loaded carpet in the boot.

The one that tickles me is when an advert states “only run on premium fuel”, you then see its had 5 previous owners, did they all run it on the same fuel as well?!

Again to me I don't mind that

Just the owner trying to explain they care about the car...

Agreed but I've seen it on ads for 10+ year old cars where the current owner has had it for six months. Not really a worthwhile selling point

"Genuine sale"

Well, to be honest, I didn't think if I rang about the car, you'd say " Its fake/not for sale"

"Aircon needs regas""

Yes, you must be 100% certain then, its not a leak/ the dryer/condenser or the whole damn pump.

Priced to sell is a good one.

As opposed to “Priced not to sell”

If it’s for sale anywhere between Rochdale and Huddersfield it may well be true.

Not spurious per se, but legendary waffle!

The guy used to have a serious badge fetish too, it was not uncommon to find one of his V8 cars such as a Mercedes with an old Rover V8 badge glued on the lower grille

It's like "First To See Will Buy" as if that will add urgency.

I wonder if we will see ads for Tottenham Hotspur's goalkeeper and defenders "PX to Clear" in this month's football transfer window? getmecoat
