I personally quite like the styling, but would rather have a Noble M12
When I was considering the Sag, the other car for consideration was the M12. It came down to two things : Could my wife drive it and could we use it as a tourer.

Wife didn't like the driving position of the M12 and the lack of storage (even using the multiple pieces of luggage sets which fit into the small nooks and crannies of the cabin) made it impractical to use as a tourer. The decision was made.

Spookily matching the original post picture.

Here's mine; had it 4 years now and honestly don't know what I'd change it to.

Going off on a slight tangent - in our local TVR group we have the registration W19 TVR, W21 TVR (mine), W22 TVR and W25 TVR.

Anyway, If I were ever fortunate enough to be able to afford £70 - £90k on a car, the Sagaris would be the one. Why anyone would want to spend £90k on the new Griff (assuming it ever goes into production) is beyond me.

Dynamically the best TVR, wearing the most hideous suit. Shame. If only it looked more like the T350...
Ironically, when I bought my Sag I bought it despite its looks rather than because of them. I thought the T350 was the prettier car but I just didn't gel with it when I test drove it but the Sag immediately felt like slipping on a favourite pair of gloves, and I bought it despite the looks and despite it being way outside of budget.

Over the years, the looks have grown on me and I now prefer it to the looks of the T350.

Obviously each to their own, and beauty is in the eye of the beer holder, etc etc.

They’ve aged so well.

I’ve owned several TVR’s over the years, Tasmin Fhc, Chim400, Griff 400, Griff 500 but for me nothing comes close to driving the Sag I’ve owned for the last 12 years, as soon as you open the garage door and it’s there waiting for you, just puts a massive smile on your face even now !

The Sag has a new stable mate this year ( Tuscan racer) and they do look great together, so they are both staying put and I see no reason to sell even if the price was double what there worth

Must admit I don’t recognise this “difficult to drive” thing. The Sag was a piece of piss to drive as a daily or down to France. I used mine as both, put 21,000 miles on her in 18 months. All conditions, all seasons. Nice to see her again on the register.

...and then there's the 'gills' on top of the front wheelarches, that really aren't. vomit
The plan was to have them open, but they discovered that it's a good way of pebble dashing your paintwork and windscreen. Being TVR, they patched the mould 'shut' rather than make a new mould. Not cheap minded at all, right?
Wouldn't it have been better to put some wire mesh across the bottom to stop the stone issue ?
I think the issue was more TVR couldn't get them to work on their £5 development budget. There have been several cars in recent years with functional open slats such as the GT3 RS and AMG GTR Pro.

The story I heard was that it was too expensive to get them to work so they simply saved themselves the 8+ man hours it took to cut them out and blanked them off in the moulds.

Either way, the myth perpetrated by Clarkson that it was some kind of quality control issue to prevent damage to the windscreen or similar guff was just that - barely-disguised spin to disguise the fact that it was down to cost-cutting.

The panels on the bonnet were meant to be motorised too, but that was very quickly dropped and they are fixed in position.

There are many rumours about the front wings.
Some of us however developed the cut out bodywork for customers...

Blimey. And I thought my 45k mile example was heading towards the "slightly leggy" category. biggrin

I bought number 121 on the register at 6 months old, ran it for 12 months then took it with me to Australia in 2007. I came back 4 years later but the Sag is still there with a new owner. It likes the climate apparently. This was my 6th and last TVR. Incredible car.

Should have traded up from my Tam when they were sub 30k, now too expensive to justify having sat in the garage all week
