Are there any particular road conditions types of road that help these cars get dirty this way?
I know the shape of the car has a lot to do with it.
What about speed? I'd imagine motorways
Muddy country lanes at 30/40mph + normally do it for me, although a motorway, at night after the days traffic has been through & after it’s just stopped raining is also a quick way to do itI know the shape of the car has a lot to do with it.

I do love a 370Z Nismo! I hate washing cars at this time of year(it seems a bit of a waste of time). I'd have to wash that though because it is well dirty!

I presume different councils use different types of salt / grit in winter? When I lived up in North Yorkshire whatever they were using, combined with road dirt, really stuck to the cars in a thick grey layer. At the out of town retail parks in winter there’d always be at least a dozen cars with rear plates completely greyed out and unreadable.
Whereas down south it seems to be a much finer white film that develops on the car which will wash off with a decent downpour.
I am no expert on grit but as it’s warmer in the south the roads are not gritted that often so it gets crushed into finer power. I would say the fritters have only been out two or three nights so far this winter down on the south coast. Whereas down south it seems to be a much finer white film that develops on the car which will wash off with a decent downpour.

Tim won't be best pleased. I don’t normally get involved in this thread, I struggle to last much more than a week without washing the car normally!
However a delay in moving house means we’re staying with the wife’s sister, and they live next to a farm in rural Aberdeenshire.
Our new house is also in farm country and I’ve been driving between them a lot, this is under two weeks worth of grubbiness. It looks a lot worse when it’s dry.
